About 1-2 years ago the German language website of Stephan Wolf (sewolf.com/infolink) noted in "Geruechte" (Rumors) that the WTS was considering dumping the COs but increasing control over rank-and-file publishers by training then sending in special elders to lord it over the rest who would report directly to Brooklyn. If this will actually occur or not who knows but what you say is a possibility. Already Brooklyn does this to some extent. For example if a congregation has major problems they'll sometimes send in usually 2 elders who do just that, elders some have called special agents for the WTS.

DOES WTS own Kingdom Halls?- Challenge
by Amazing inrecently, the bonham, texas issue was discussed and comments were made that when the jws lost the hall in 1986 that the society then took deed ownership of kingdom halls to prevent another case like bonham from happening.. i challenged this as not being universally true, because long after the bonham case, i kept congregation files and we never made any deed transfers to the society, nor change our non-profit association charter to make the society a beneficiary in trust.. what i did yesterday: i am frequently involved with courts, judges, and legal matters, property titles, etc.
i checked on a kingdom hall at random near my office.
i ran a deed search and the title came up as being owned by the local congregation of jehovah's witnesses, and no mention was made of the watch tower society or any subsidiary corporations.. further, the kingdom hall in my analysis was purchased not long ago, but long after the bonham case.

But again, those who want to fellowship don't have to own a BUILDING like that but can simply gather in a home, a free meeting place like some libraries offer, by internet, in a park or wherever.

A guy in Illinois does the same thing. Probably there's a lot doing it. It's the same as where other religions charge to help people get to a holy shrine or some other religious site. Very commercialized.

True indeed. But now that he's said he won't post here, here's some information to get this thread back on what Bill originally had it about.
In another thread I've reposted what Maximus says on H20 to Jan Groenveld about a special earthwide meeting coming in late Sept in many nations and also early Oct 2001. Logically the Bethelites got at least some preliminaries at their own special meeting that Bill orginally posted about. Please see the other thread for details.
They've known for about year now the Free Christians movement was promoting "Friendship Get-togethers" in or nearest the main park/campingground in each national or state/provincial capital earthwide and the U.S. in particular. Possibly they hope in part to defuse the movement's growth, though as Maximus states these other legal concerns and difficulty in fully controlling all branches must also be major factors.
Again, go see for yourselves. I do believe the puzzle's pieces are fitting together. Probably my last post for the day as I've got business concerns to see to.

You put forward the notion that Henschel is a now total mental incompetent when none of us have seen any official statement to that effect. He may have some memory loss and speech faltering but to the best of everyone's knowledge he is still the President of the WTBTS and although the Gov Body is said to now be reorganized such that the chairmanship changes yearly we have not heard that he has resigned. If they kept a total mental incompetent as chairperson then that would be simply incredible!
Now you'll come back and say, well, Judah is no longer even Director of International Relations for the WTBTS. No problem. But the point is that he was. He did wield such power and since his Pappa is still on the Gov Body what was taken away may yet come back. Regardless of current position for Judah, the burning fact YOU can't seem to grasp is that the father and son duo are both in the world headquarters and therefore the Schroeders do still maintain much power.

As said, I’m going after the directory of attornies so readers can see it’s in there too. If someone can tell me how to find and search through hourglass archives older than 2001, please do so for those contained much more direct comments on Schroeder as an attorney. But again, I am also going after the directory in the legal library. I am not sure if the WTS paid Judah Ben Schroeder out of its money (from us) for getting his degree so as to work on its behalf or not. Will be interesting..... Thanks Eusebius for the motivation.
And by the way, insofar as Bill Bowen goes, I seem to recall you and so-called "madapostate" attacked the viability of the Berry case too which Bill and Anderson & Reinhardt have been involved with to one extent or another. I believe Charles is correct that they are being told to stay extra mum. Those who could and would talk will but they'll have to leave Bethel and get to a computer terminal that's separate from there. Give it a bit. When some of those who are moled up in Brooklyn Bethel can, word will bounce back. One problem we've had is all the security they've added of late. But people still talk.
