  i just discovered something i have not seen anywhere before.

  i was looking at my old "all scripture inspired" book, and i say old because it was the first edition from 1963 and i had used it for years.

  according to the wt cd there were revisions in 1983 and 1990. i came across this little goodie under the book of daniel.

  Its been my experience that many witnesses today cannot say why their

   religion is the truth. No matter what area of 'proof' they would turn to,

   there are 10 things to shatter such 'proof' to bits. 607 is only one. 

  The fabrication of 'evidence', 'proving' these are the last days, by misusing

   statistics and applying them to 1914 is another. My suggestion Stecka is....

  lurk on this site for awhile longer....go into the archives....surface again 

  a few weeks from now.....if you survive to sign in here again, you will 

  likely understand the people here a lot better. You will also understand 

  your precious 'truth' much better.

  My Dad's rare "Photo Drama Of Creation" -- given to Watchtower Bethel

  up until october 18th, 2004, my (elder in good standing who generally talks to me almost never) father had a copy of the original "photo drama of creation".

  for those of you not familiar with it, the "photo drama of creation" was a multimedia experience from the turn of the century, combining (hand painted?

  ) glass slides with phonograph records resulting in an audio/video presentation years before "talkies".

  Wifee and I saw this presentation (the pared down one) in the mind-90's at a KH in BC. I remember everyone thought it was an awesome privilege(tm). I don't recall who put it on though it seems to me it was a CO.

  I'm not sure how scandalous any slides showing cross and crown, pyramids, and so forth are, since they are on display at Bethel (canuck one) and I believe pics and statements of these symbols being used are in jw publications (Proclaimers book?).

  Perhaps there is some other nefarious use you were thinking of?

  I apologize if I sidetracked this thread Startingover.....I actually found your gem of a find, very interesting, as this whole 607BCE issue was a key piece of the puzzle that eventually freed me from the clutches of the wts....I hope more will comment on it too!   Oh gawd, here we go again with 'Scholar'. He's like a fly on shyte when he sees the magical numbers '607'.

  Let me predict how this thread will go: Scholar will play coy with his high and mighty attitude playing duck and run with several posters who make way more sense than him and don't require 'faith' in the wts in order to understand their point. AlanF will likely be along to trade blows though its more like a battleship blastin' the shyte out of a canoe (you can guess who is which boat).

  Scholar will not capably defend nor reasonably address the fact that the wts had to, MUST, use secular chronology to anchor their crappy version of relative biblical chronology. The same reasons they use to pivot on 539BCE are the same ones they should also use to believe the virtually totally accepted date of ol' Nebby's 18th regnal year. If they don't put such weight behind this other date, then 539BCE is out as well, and then no 1914, no GB, no authority behind dubs...

  In essence, Scholar will allow all of the truly accurate and damning (against the WTS) information to once again come into the spotlight thoroughly convincing noobie JWD'ers and lurkers that the wts is backed by similar thinking crackpot apologists like 'Scholar'. Way to go 'Scholar'! Congratulations on the excellent 'witness' work your testimony gives to the other side.

  The key to your opening statement about these pics was that the images didn't show up until you put them on the pc....clearly a case of intense paranormal activity...or....an issue with development or picture taking procedure....

  Your reply directly above made me think that those who need it apparently aren't the close to 2 billion Chinese and East Indians...... The usual flaw in the theory the witnesses have that preaching is about an opportunity for salvation for people living in the end days..... And, would you not agree, that credibility for your claims and your ideas is virtually nonexistant when viewed in the context of religious....erm....believers in the whole world? Faith is not quantifiable, definable, believable, credible, nor possible, for me...heh heh....so far... boa...

  Bb, I told you I would look this thread up when you decided it was appropriate to post it.

  I have and I can only say that this thread has shown me something good and worthy about you. Your sense of humour. In response to some of the others you keep your chin up and aren't too overly serious.

  Funny, just today I was talking with someone about the whacked out Revelation book and how so much of their interpretation seems sooooo conveniently cohesive if you don't look to deeply and just accept, don't question it. And the other fellow (still a sorta-dub) said he never really believed a lot of the Rev book stuff anyway due to those reasons.
