Dress and Grooming: Sisters In Stilettos?

i attended several meetings, and i was shocked at how some of the jw's dress.

is it just my area (tennessee), or is it a widespread problem?

Deltron3030 - I've only been studying for 3 months, so how am I supposed to know what they are REALLY supposed to wear.

Do you really want other people to tell you what to wear or state their opinion on whether the clothing you have chosen to wear is acceptable?

This is one of the many issues with JWs. They invent rules and state personal opinions to judge and control other members including which hairstyle, facial hair, makeup or clothing is acceptable, including when touring a WT printing facility. Where in the New Testament does it state these things are to be dictated or are important?

Even while a JW, I believed the examples of Chrisitan behaviour taught in the NT is to concern myself in how I act and treat others, and not to judge others.

Wear clothing you feel is appropriate and you are comfortable wearing. When not acting as a judge, it is not a concern when others don't do things the same way you choose to do.

Angels are Neuter Gender According to JW`s

what about the bible ,does that agree with the jw theology ?.

therefore angels are sexless ,yet we find in the bible on a few occasions where they have lusted after women ,taken a mans form and had sex with women.. .on one occasion producing hybrids half human half angel.. on other occasions they just wanted to satisfy their sexual desires.?

Even if it is possible to believe that angels lusted (a human concept) after human women and could materialize into human form so as to have sex with those women, why were those spirit angels equipped with an ability to procreate?

Even if equipped with genetic seed, why is the seed from a spirit angel compatible with human DNA so as to successfully produce offspring with human women? A dog cannot impregnate another species but spirit creatures can supposedly come to earth and successfully impregnate human women to produce hybrid children?

i was just wondering if there is any official rules on dealing with this.

a sister in the congregation is planning to divorce her husband who is also a witness so she can marry a different brother in the same hall!

this is about watching two very selfish people who have known each other for about 6 weeks tear 2 families apart.

Unless one of them is your spouse, you really do not know the private details of either home life. Obviously, we don't know either but perhaps they are both unhappy and feeling trapped in abusive or unloving marriages. Maybe the home situation for both families is miserable and already damaged beyond repair. Perhaps desperation was what is common and having someone to talk to that could understand and not judge was what brought them together.

Life is too short to merely exist in an unhappy condition.

Why do CO's refuse to strip Elders of their position?

in several congregations i attended many elders were downright evil and flat out drunk with power.. many times i personally knew of things done by them that would have been a disfellowshipping offense had they not been elders.

and even though many times these issues and spiritual atrocities were reported to the co's and hq they would many times (if not all the time), get off with a mere slap on the wrist or a forced apology.. why do you believe elders are so protected?.

my theory is the authority integrity within the congregation.

While WT claim elders are to behave in certain ways, consider the behaviour of the GB and higher-ups in Bethel. Do they adhere to the claimed standards as an example in which to follow?

Thinking back to your time as a JW, consider which elders were rewarded with advancement in responsibility and position. Was it elders who were meek and humble, who worried about the welfare of others, or was it those who thought highly of themselves and wanting prominence at the expense of the 'sheep' they were entrusted to sheppard?

A continual reward for bad behaviour at the congregation level, is a reflection on the corporate culture and attitude in Bethel.

As with many things in the JW 'religion', actions and behaviour are usually opposite to the examples and requirements Jesus gave on how his followers are to act.

in the old testament, god was always full of anger and jealousy resulting in the murder of millions of people.

we’re told jesus perfectly reflects his fathers qualities.

why in the new testament does jesus show no hint of anger and jealousy and wanting to kill people?

I sometimes wonder how complete 'the bible' is, compared to the original manuscripts?

For example, I have seen it suggested by Bible scholars, that each of the Apostles including Judas, had their own testaments.

My thought if that is true, why are only some Apostle's books included in the Bible while others are not? Who made the decision to exclude information, and for what purpose? For the books that are included, where they also edited to change the originally intended message?

If the bible is missing information, perhaps the missing info indicates the god named in the OT, is not the same God and Father spoken of but not named in the NT.

As punishment for not making himself a martyr by refusing blood and likely dying, it seems your sister now wants to ensure your father will die a spiritual death.

With regard to his right to privacy in his care, did your father or mother disclose to anyone that he accepted a blood transfusion?

While the choice of medical treatment is a private matter between a patient and their health care provider(s), if your father provided private information regarding his care to anyone not entitled, then he can not reasonably expect to claim a privacy breach for his treatment details being known by anyone he told.

Confidentiality of patient information is a requirement for health care workers, not friends and family. While your father and you may reasonably expect your sister from love will respect his right to privacy, and respect his right to do as he considers appropriate and as his conscience allows, there is no HIPPA accountability that applies to her as family.

As any JW is fully aware, WT requires JWs to report other members to the elders if they are observed doing anything considered 'wrong'.

Since he made a private decision to accept a blood transfusion(s), it would then have been in his best interest to say nothing to anyone especially family members and JW visitors, and to also require any transfusions to be administered in private with no visitors present.

If your father is later questioned by JW elders, he could state his treatment is a private matter between himself, his health care team and Jehovah. If he chooses to admit anything, he could say that he accepted blood fractions and not define what those fractions consist of.

apostates will get a-hold of one of their videos and "alter" it in some way to make the watchtower look bad to the public.. this is one of wt's biggest false flags, the lie that 'apostates' will alter published content or recordings to say something that makes them look bad.

outside of obvious satire, i'm not sure this has ever happened.

Vidiot, another example is many JWs blamed 'Apostates' for inventing a false story, writing a letter on a copy of fake UN letterhead and even hacking the UN website when it was revealed that WT had been signed-on with the UN as an NGO.

Although JWs claimed WT would NEVER associate with the UN, many quickly backpedalled and rationalised reasons why that was OK when it was verified that WT had actually done so.

Once WT provided the lame excuse of needing a library card, many JWs then adopted that as the valid reason, without further thought or consideration to their earlier denials or accusations against apostates.

Finkelstein, I expect WT recognize full well the accusations of Ex and never JWs.

Lett and other GB member's choice of wording is a method to further poison the words of non-JWs, so active JWs will be more prone to close their ears to criticisms, so they will be less likely to consider the accusations might have some merit.

One positive of this type of accusation is, the JW is actually acknowledging the questionable comment, information or view is 'wrong' and a contradiction to that which is proper for Christians.

Once the material's source is proven to be WT, the JW then will typically make excuses to rationalize and defend WT's position on the matter.

'Apostates' do not need to invent or alter WT material to make it appear un-Christian. WT does a good job of that without outside influence.

Subliminal Messaging

for over 20 years subliminal pictures showed up in most books, wt, and awakes- eighties, nineties and into 2000's.... demons, gods, you name it-- .

I can recall similar hidden images being a topic among some JWs over 40 years ago. I expect WT artists from back then have come and gone and so I doubt it could be attributed to a few PIMO artists.

While a few random shapes that appear as something else could be reasonable on occasion, they generally wouldn't be recognized as a complete person or item.

Because the hidden images in WT literature have been so frequent, blatant, complete and often have a similar appearance and theme, that seems to suggest they are not random or by accident.

If it were so common for complete hidden images to randomly appear in printed works, they should also be easily found in other common publications and periodicals not produced by WT.
