i've been out for 8 years, and for the first time in my life i am doubting.. not big doubts, but little ones.
it's all the middle east and the "peace and security" talk.
i feel like armageddon is coming.. the brainwashing never ends.
I have to agree... I remember in the early '80s, listening ever so intently to the news because of the middle east stuff. I remember in 1983 I actually told many of my (JW) friends, "I give it two years". Of course everyone agreed with me.
It's always around the corner!
I've been out for about 10 years now. I look back at myself and some of my writing and wonder how I could've been so stupid!

on november 11, 2003 howard kanehe a jehovah's witness in good standing was convicted of molesting his daughter, in addition, his step daughter also offered testimony of her molestation but her testimony was kicked out due to the statue of limitations in california.

Wow, an unbelievable story! I've never known someone as selfish as Mr.X. To use his entire family, and more, for his own sexual gratification, is just beyond my imagination.
Then how even the courts laid out how the Witnesses could have stopped the abuse, years earlier, is so telling.
It was an amazing story Donald and thanks for not only sharing your pain, but also your courage and survival.
I hope you spend the rest of your years a healed soul.

my daughter t was born when i was a married witness,i was almost 21.she was a very sweet outgoing loving child.when she was 4 i had another daughter s .
lol this one was my challenge when she was little but is now such a joy to me.. anyway t began school at 5 and seemed to be doing well with school and her friends.. just about a month after she began 1st grade we had stopped to eat lunch while out in service.t suddenly made a strange noise she looked off into space with a strange stare and wouldnt respond to anything we said or did.i was in a panic by the time she began talking again and told us that she heard us but couldnt answer us at that point.demons?was my first thought but as i began to ask her about it then i began to feel she had had a small seizure.

I'm so sorry to hear of you missing even this last wedding. I know I need to do just as you have, and not show the pain. Keep up the front and the channels open. We both know they are all blinded by the bigotry they are taught. Thank God for our loving wives!

Edited to add: After our divorce I lived in New Jersey, my ex and 4 year old daughter lived in East Texas. My ex taught my daugter to call me "Uncle Bryan". "You live so far away, it's like you visit as a relative anyway" she tells me, laughing. Witnesses are such loving people.

Thanks again everyone for your concern and well wishes.
My daughter still emails me. In fact her tone is much different from that of her first letter , breaking off our relationship. She did give me the address of her new apartment though she did not supply her new phone number (I am forbidden to call her). I always respond to her emails and send notes via snail mail about every two months.
As far as grandchilden etc. I don't know. That road will be crossed later.
It has been very difficult. As many of you know, I was abducted at age 2 by my JW father. I finaly found my mother at age 33, only to discover that she had searched for me for years then attempted suicide. She's like a 60 year old child. Soon after, my father and step-mother began shunning me (I'm an apostate). One of my step-sisters stopped talking to me, becuase I refused to accept her, "I ran into a door" story after her boyfriend gave her a black eye. And now, my daughter has left me as well. Not to mention the hateful letter she wrote.
I'm tired of the depression and am considering getting back on the meds.
Without a doubt, the one bright light in my life is my beautiful, patient, understanding, loving wife. Without her my life would be much darker.
