i don't know why but lately i have been so intolerant of people.
i find myself bitter when people spew nonsense as if it is fact (political, religious, etc........).
i went on a girl's weekend with a good friend of mine (non jw) and everytime she started talking about how blessed she is and how god put stuff on her heart i felt ill. i feel ill just telling you about it.. so, am i the only one feeling bitter these days??

Of course I want my friends to be happy but it seems so selfish that they think they are blessed by god with every little thing that happens to them and completely overlook people who are just as deserving as they are but have never been "blessed". It angers me and I can't seem to get past it.

I do stuff like that, too but it just reaches a point where you get tired of hearing it but you can't say anything because then you become a horrible person. Even as an ex-jw it still seems like I lack freedom because I live in the deep south and most people are as judgemental as the dubs.

i'm thinking that i believe in his existance but think that he does not play an active role in our lives.
he does not cause evil but also does not bless...... what do you think?.

I understand... It isn't something that I just set out to try to understand. I can't help it. I think about it a lot and to me wondering is so much better than accepting.

Exactly! I completely agree about the "blessed" thing....... makes me sick actually.... and they will go on and on with it, "God is sooo good... I am soooo blessed, etc......", while not once thinking about how many humans there are on this earth and how many of them do not have even a tolerable life........ Ugh.. I thought I was just grouchy because this irritates me :)

If I didn't see evidence of a creator then I would completely agree with that.... but....... I can't imagine how there would not be a creator when looking at the complexity of life.

Maybe that is it.... Maybe they are scared of being left in the same difficult position that I was in after losing everything I had been taught to believe in.

Wow, you have really summed up how I feel about things. I've been thinking about it for a very long time and never could understand why I would be worthy of a home and a family while someone else is living in a box on the street. I'm no better than anyone and a God who can read my heart knows that. Once I came to the conclusion that he isn't actively involved in anyone's lives I actually had a sense of peace. To me that is so much better than a partial God. I am just glad to know that other people feel this way. I live in the deep south and definitely the bible belt where free thinking is ridiculed.
The only thing I still wonder a lot about is the existence of paranormal or unexplained things. While I don't really believe that there are demons messing with us I still know there are things that are unexplainable. I have to wonder where that fits in.
lol, on a side note....... everytime I try to type Deism I end up typing Desism.... lol, maybe I'm more worthy than I know... :) ha....
