  how many different countries have you visited in your life time.......................can't name the same country twice ....even if it has changed names.. countries on other planets don't count !.

  I've been to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and was married in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

  That's all so far but I'm not done yet.

  is there anywhere i can get just the facts about current issues and where both presidential candidates stand on each?.

  it seems like everywhere i look there is someone or something trying to sway me one way or the other.

  my husband is a head strong republican while others i know are active democrats.

  Were You Treated With Respect When Counseled By The Elders?

  i knew a certain few elders that really got off by "talking down" to the "flock".

  many elders were pretty nice guys but a few could turn----just like that!

  what was your experience with "those taking the lead", the "loving shepherds"???

  I was counceled by the elders about dating a "worldy person". They actually were pretty nice about it. They even seemed to listen to me. They said, "We can't tell you who to love."

  It wasn't as bad as it could have been, I guess.

  Can I withdraw a Disassociation?

  i'm new to the site, and wonder can anyone advise me..... two years ago i decided to leave the jws, and when i met with the elders to inform them, they told me they had grounds to disfellowship me (i told them i doidnt believe in god and had slept with my boyfriend.....for full story see my profile).

  at the time i thought that telling them would just mean that i could get on with my life and they would know that i was not a jw... i thought that you could only df a person who wilfully sinned against god.... well i didnt believe in god, so how could i wilfully sin against him?

  anyway, as i said, the elders wanted to df me, and, not wanting to be seen as a sinner, i wrote a letter of disassociation detailing my reasons for not believing ahead of the dfing.. so did the elders have grounds to df me?

  I faded and some JWs ignore me as though I was DF anyway.

  This is the same with me. I faded and have been personally judged by all members of my old congregation. They didn't have to hear that I was disfellowshipped or disassociated to decide for themselves that I wasn't worth talking to.

  People here have given you a lot of suggestions. IMO, it really isn't worth all the effort in coming back just to leave again.

  You're Iceland!
  Most people think you're a cold and forbidding person, but you're actually naturally warm and inviting. People just get scared off by what other people have led them to believe about you. You keep to yourself for the most part, and are pretty good at fending for yourself, especially if water's involved. More people should visit you and find out the truth.

  I'm two years older than my husband...I don't see anything wrong with an age difference. Usually, though, IMO, it is better for the man to be a little bit older...seems to put them on the same level of maturity.
