Watchtower -- publishing corrections to earlier books -- any examples?
by Fatfreek inerrata: a list of errors and their corrections or additions to the printing, found after book has been printed, usually on separate sheet or slip of paper.
... (internet).
recently (2006) our friend atlantis posted a download link to the society's equivalent to an errata for their "revelation-its grand climax at hand".

The Butchering of the English Language.
by Low-Key Lysmith ini am disturbed by the recent trend in the media in america that encourages the butchering of our english language.. i'm talking about examples of film titles like "she hate me", "how she move", & "baby mama".
does it really take that much effort to add an "s" to the end of a word?
now, before i am decried as a racist, please note that nowhere in any of my statements have i isolated any particular race.

WHAT MADE YOU LEAVE? Doctrine or people?
by chuckyy inhi.. just wondering what made you take the final leap out of the org?
was it doctrinal in that certain things just didnt add up or was it because of the actions of people in the org.
that made you leave?

This really brings back some bad memories. At first it was the people. (abuse from my ex wife) Hate the gossip! Then after a year I was hurt by the UN scandal and the Tacoma parking lot scandal, I was raised as a JW all my life, they taught me to have a good conscience, and a lover of truth and righteousness. Due to my conscience I got away from the unclean thing!!!!!!!!

Do good works by JWs count for anything?
by greendawn inwe all know that the wts like so many other cults is an exploitative organisation that works with a great depth of deception that's not easy for many to grasp.
but will the works done by jws for this religion count in their favour if they were done in good faith?
at least the ones that didn't directly harm anyone?

Your most memorable Kingdom Hall meeting disruptions!
by easyreader1970 ini remember about twenty years ago some teenagers were caught fornicating in one of the additional schools.
the schools were downstairs, essentially separated from the rest of the kh.
they weren't just happened upon, though.

I remember when the circuit overseer would always run over on Sunday around 12:15 he was still talking. Just then a metal handicap young man would yell "when we going to lunch?"

it will be because there will only be 4 weekly meetings, instead of five. now that means they can't use that illustration of the hand. That is represents the meetings and you need to hold on with all five fingers otherwise your grip isn't as strong... I remember that! The book study was the pinky.

Were You Skeptical of "the Annointed Ones" in Your Congregation?
by BabaYaga insorry in advance to all of the ones on this forum now, who partook while jw.
i have to say that in my experience, having known personally several who were "of the annointed", most were absolutely dingy.
the only exception was the little ancient gal who had attended the early convention where all attendees were "annointed" en masse!

I remember one guy in his 80s. He always wore his suit and tie every ware. And I mean every ware. Went to a picnic there he was. He would walk along side of a river near his house there he is in his suit and tie. Very strange! Im sure he will not go hunting with me.

Has anyone disassociated themselves in public at the KH?
by Awakened at Gilead ini read of someone on this site that gave a public talk and disassociated himself at the end of the talk.
has anyone here da'd by giving a comment at a meeting?????.
it would be kinda cool with the big generation light coming up to just raise my hand, say i don't believe it, and be done with it.

Maybe I am just bitter and I will never play by there rules. I will never respond to there request for JC meeting nor will I disassociate my self. To me that is another buzz word of the JWS. In my opinion any one on this forum should never go by there rules and comply with them by disassociating themselves.
