They shouldn't be allowed to sign up again this year
I agree, its only fair that everyone who goes to the trouble of sending something also receives something.
If anyone realises that they will not be able to send their gift for whatever reason, please let me know so that you can be removed from the list of who is joining in completely and things reworked.

Great start !
The other thing we usually do is, in a few weeks before the names are given out I will start a thread where everyone who is involved can post a few ideas of what sort of things they like etc and so when you get your name through you can go to the thread and look for the reply by the person you have been given to get some ideas
I'll give this topic a bump occassionally over the next week or so, so we can get people involved - I think we had around 70 people join in last year

Well Christimas will soon be here !!
For those that are new we have done this for the last few years, what it involves is that those who want to join in will post to this thread and then PM me their name and address. I will then collate the names and addresses and assign everyone a person to buy a gift for. So everyone sends one gift and everyone receives one gift, and you will not know who your gift is from until you open it ! We usually set a limit of $15 for gifts and you will receive your name of who to buy for around mid-november so that you have time to shop and post it off in time for Christimas.
Obviously I will not share anyones address with anyone other than the person who is going to send them a gift.
Who fancys it this year ? !
BTW: I dont think I kept the file with peoples addresses after last year so even if you joined in last year you will need to send me your details again.

Some JW parents don't deserve to be parents!!!
by Es inat least mine don't anyway.. ive been thinking of there behaviour towards me for the last few weeks, and im just so over them being my parents.
when mike and i went to the hosp on wed night after my nan had passed away, i tried to comfort my mum, she hardly wanted me to touch her.
i didnt even look at my dad for the first half n hour we were there.

You could put your own notice in the paper, a tribute to your nan from her loving grand-daughter and great grandchildren, it would maybe remind them you are part of the family and be something nice from you in memory of your nan

I remember the thread and it is the same case - it wasnt the parents who had the JW connection, it was a man that was treated as a suspect when she first dissappeared. I think someone posted that he had a JW connection somehow, I cant be sure and I may be wrong but I dont think it turned out to be true.

He/she probably left after the "warm welcome" everyone gave him. What is wrong with giving a new member the benefit of the doubt? I would rather have 50 trolls on the forum then have one legitimate new member ran out of town by a torch carrying mob. Trolls can be banned but how do you get someone back that right out of the chute was crapped on?
If given enough rope a BS'er will hang themselves.
If OTB was a troll nobody has been harmed or hurt in any way. If they were legite then I don't blame him/her for going elswhere.
I think this post is spot on - the label troll is tossed around far too much, just because someone posts something that is unusual or uses a term that may not be used regularly "IN YOUR AREA' this is no proof at all that someone is a troll and posting stupid pictures and definitions of trolls just because you dont like what has been said is pathetic.
Trolls usually show themselves up eventually but there is no way you can decide for certain after someone has made 4 posts, if you dont believe them fine dont say anything, but there is no need to try and run them off the forum or demand that they explain themselves. I have often heard people use the term 'in the ministry' -

I agree its smells fishy. There has been a lot of criticism of the way the police have handled the whole thing, and talk of the apartment being contaminated before forensics were taken etc. There has been so much publicity about the case it feels to me like a desperate attempt to 'solve' the case.
