No people on facebook were being force-signed up to a facebook group called AAWA - some of those people also happen to be JWN members. This is nothing to do with JWN other than people are coming here to discuss the problem.

What Kind of "Door Knocker" or "Bell Ringer" Were You?
by LoisLane looking for Superman ini preferred ringing the house holders door bell.
if i couldn't hear it.
i'd do it again, just in case.

When I could get away with it I often pretended to ring the bell and hoped they wouldn't notice me at the doorstep so I didn't have to talk to anyone

Constructive feedback for AAWA leadership (IMHO)
by besty in1 - reconsider your existence - there might be a reason why the most effective resources to date have been solo efforts.
2 - recognize that even well-intentioned organizations will firstly seek self-preservation.
3 - be aware that egos and emotional stupidity have torn apart much grander edifices than aawa.

What safeguards do you have in place to protect my information?
Information or details that you have allowed on Facebook will only be viewable by group members that are also your "friend" on Facebook.\
Is that correct? It seems counter to what facebook say - if someone joins the group can't other members of the group see the person as a member?
Will my information be shared by anyone outside of the AAWA?
If someone is "outside" of AAWA, they can not see your information.
Define 'outside' and 'member'. Will it be shared with other volunteers? These things need to be clear. The boundary of what the AAWA 'is' needs to be clear both for the AAWA company, the volunteers and people coming to them. I'm sure there are potential important liability issues, especially in the land-of-the-lawyers.

Why are faders such pussys?!?!?
Are you serious??? Who are you to decide when is the right time for someone to come out as a fader. Wanting to preserve family relationships and ties and limit the stress and hurt that often comes with leaving does not make anyone a "pussy" and to suggest otherwise is just incredibly arrogant and insulting

If it was FB friends, and not the AAWA administrators who auto-added people, then it's the FB friends who deserve the blame.
I think the point is that once they realised over 1000 people had been auto-added by some people they should have shut the group and re-started with more secure settings. One of the founders has said that they even recognised known apologists names being added to the group - at that point it doesn't matter if it is secret to the public or not everyone that is in the group will be able to see everyone else in the group and they cannot be aware of everyones motives. Depending on peoples personal FB settings the group members would be able to gather infomation from the personal profiles of other group members

My View and Bobby Dylan's View of AntiWatchtower Special Groups
by Band on the Run inmy computer crashed so i am not fully informed of the recent antiwatchtower organization.
i must vent, however.
perhaps i am the only one on the face of the earth (or the entire universe) but i found cedar's opening announcement insulting.

"OH i DON'T THINK WE ARE ALOWWED TO TALK ABOUT THE WHOLE FIASCO THAT WAS AAWA ANYMORE !!!!! band on the run. Be careful what you say.
I think we have been censored. Correct me if I'm wrong."
I think you a mis-representing things here, the threads were open for days (around a week I think) and numerous things were discussed openly - we closed them on the weekend when it got to the point of the same things being re-hashed over and over again. Your implication that no discussion of AAWA is allowed is simply not true
Your thread directed to Tylinbrando was obviously a personal disagreement and would be better discussed through PM

Problems with the "Bogus AWAA Fan Page"..
by OUTLAW ingood afternoon jwn... .
i`ve spent the morning and part of my afternoon... getting to the bottom of... why names were added to the awaa fan page... it`s a dangerous thing to happen in our world... faders can be outed,we can lose,family,friends... the results can be an absolute disaster... .
aawa "did not" create the facebook awaa fan page.

"Unless they come forward with their story and personal timeline of events by examining their own activity log on Facebook, we cant put the pieces together and it remains assumption and speculation."
So you are expecting them to come forward publicaly with their timeline which would then further out them by linking their real or FB name to their JWN username, opening up all their posts for someone to hold against them?

Ceders Yes - calm heads would be good, but I'm sure you can appreciate why people are upset - I don't think people are bashing for the sake of bashing. These are people that value their privacy and anonymity (as you do also, no one has the right to demand you expose your identity either) so I'm sure you can appreciate why they are upset. There have been a number of explanations as far I can see but some things seem to be contradicting others and it is very confusing so people are just trying to understand what has happened - and also whether they are still at risk of further unwanted exposure.

Lets keep things civil.
Emotions are understandably high as this has affected a lot of people by the sound of it, it is inexcusable and should not be downplayed but back and forth insults are not going to help.
