Battle of Hastings 1066 and all that.

every where you live, the local area has something about it that is either famous for something good or something bad.
as an example, you go to one town and it may have the historial site of a famous war battle.
you go to another an it might be the place something was invented, or the birthplace of someone famous.
Battle of Hastings 1066 and all that.

hi.. i have decided to join this site and hopefully connect with some people who will know what my story has been.
i guess it is best to read my profile, but the upshot of this new found technology is that i am no longer alone in my isolation.
i can hopefully reach out and connect with people who really understand what it is like in my head!
Hi Paul

i studied with the jw's for two years and some time this coming week i will be making the "phone call" to tell carol my friend, that i do not want to study any longer with the jw's.
i don't know why i let them into my kitchen to begin with, except there was something about her and i don't make friends well with other women, most of my friends are guys, but carol could tell a irish yarn that made you laugh and feel good.
she made me feel safe and she was fun to go shopping with and talk about problems too, she was like the mother i never had.
Hi Silvia
Cant better what others have said. Wish I could of had such good advice 25 years ago.

i am very angry at this time.. i took my 7 yr old little girl to the hospital yesterday....she has had heart problems since birth.
i explained that we were no longer jw,s and would accept blood if necessary during open heart surgery.
the doctor told me that if that was the case, the operation must proceed without delay.
Chucky
I hope all goes well for your daughter.
Your doctors story seems a little odd. Any child that requires surgery/blood in the UK would automatically be made a ward of court if the parents resisted.
My GD had OH surgery at about 2 years old and her parents were told that whilst they would do their best not to use blood if necessary they would. My daughter & son in law didnt have a problem with that.
Please dont be too hard on yourself over this.
Some heart surgery is better delayed until the child is bigger or stronger.
Please feel free to PM me.

i left the org slightly before the change in the "generation that was alive in 1914" thing was announced and wondered, what were peoples in the congregations reactions after this was announced and did it you notice people falling away because of it?
has it had a damaging effect?
I remember hearing the talk first at Norwich assembly, in the pouring rain if I remember correctly. Didnt take it all in at the time because we couldnt hear properly due the the noise of the rain on our brollies, and we had black bin bags over our legs to try and keep dry!!! Couldnt take any notes either.
I do know that we had a very outspoken pio sister and hubby who moved right out of the area very soon after the WT study came out and no real reason was ever given. Have often wondered if she couldnt face all her return visits with the "new light".
We also had a CO visit which pushed about "not taking down the boxes ie hobbies and materialistic pursuits, we had shelved until the new system". I remember chatting with another young couple at the back of the hall after that talk and we all said our boxes where down and opened and staying that way LOL. They are still in, we are not!! I often wonder if they remember that.
