we interrupt your forum posting for this 'just in' item...... it appears an elder has not locked his doctor's bag and a member of the conscious class has brazeningly swiped & scanned a copy of the s-55e.
(((thank you anonymous cc jw!.
for the purpose of our bethel audience i want to assure you no actual elder was willingly involved in the obtaining of this scan.. link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/mnf7a0.
Thankyou for making this available.

ok so both books are copyrighted, bottleofwater just asked to get a copy of coc a book that would save his life.
however when he asked for a copy he got replies that called him a thieve and many other things.
however when copying the new flock book many here copy the book and pass it along and not many say the same thing..... so i wonder what do you think?
The elders book is distributed free of charge from the publishers
Cof C isnt and I have happily got my copy from Amazon

i believe that most dubs remain because of the investment they have made to the "truth".
as soon as men become a ms or an elder they have bought in and can no longer express any doubts felt.
then promotion through full time "service" means an increase in authority over those below and control by those above.
Hi SF
often wondered about this one.
Maybe a small % do but I would think that as you say many have invested too much time/life/effort to be able to step back and honestly evaluate the teachings.
You can also factor in family ties that will have accrued over the years ie children now married to the 'mob', and maybe grandchildren. All of these effectively being held in ransom due to their lack of years and experience of the WTBTS lies and tactics.
It would take a VERY brave person to try and extricate themselves and their familiy having reached so far into the inner circle and workings of JW land.
I am sure that there are many who would like to try but who are all to aware of the potential cost.
Those of us who have managed to exit from lower down the ladder know the problems and heartache involved.

Hi to all from East Sussex
Anglise
i must confess to 'lurking' occasionally for several years on this site - purely because i am bone idle and spend most of my day writing with work.
many of the posts are really funny, moving or both and very well written so thanks to all who contribute.. as can no doubt be seen by my inability to recognise that maybe having your own name as a username may not be the best of ideas (i don't have anything to hide but even so - it does reveal a complete lack of imagination), i have not posted to any forum before as far as i can remember.
my story is at least as 'entertaining' as some others on here and when i get the time will right it down if only as another warning for all the doubting jws that may read it.
Hi and welcome James.
lovely to see more UK'ers here.
Sorry but we are down in the south so cant help with your initial query. In fact any further south and we would get wet!!!
Yes there is hope for your brother - there are lots of elders and x elders on here. Other half was an elder when we exited and we are all out now.

i found out that in a local congregation the service overseer has directed that magazines not be given by jws to:.
a) inactive jws.
b) return visits that are not coming to the meetings after 6 months.
Havent seen anyone in our area for months, yet when we were still door knocking the territory was covered about every 2-3 months.
Must be because all the honest hard working dubs have now left and are here on JWD and other similar boards.
All power to us.

the title pretty much explains it all... i don't want to go too much into my story (for paranoid fear of identification), but i have been raised in the "truth", and got baptized at a young age- too young to truly understand what i was getting into.
i still live with my parents, and as such don't want to make a move just yet, as it would destroy virtually everything i have left.
as of now though, i see myself leaning towards agnosticism.. here's my short sob story.
Welcome Confliction
Are you sure you have no friends? What about at your workplace?
Could you take up some other interests that would take you outside of KH influence?
To fade gently can be a long process and only you know if could cope with that.
Good luck with your choices

my cousin told me last week that for the month of february she was ''pioneering''.
here is a person who was divorced 2 years ago and had to move in with her mom because she can't afford to live on her own .she only works 4 days a week.
she pays $600 every 2 months for health insurance because she is self-employed.
For most pios it is a further get out from real life with the added bonus of glory when the service meeting had an item
about "supporting your local pios" or similar.
Yep most pios that we knew played the social security system.
Worked just enough hours to qualify for all the benefits going and then pio'd the rest of the time.
(I am sure that most householders would be overjoyed to know that they are subsidising the JW door knockers!)
