  To tell you the truth, I'm not so worried about talking about it at the doors. I am more worried about how our brothers and sisters will take it. Today I heard many comments of disapproval that the congregations are allowing the child molesters to go door to door and still associate with the congregations.

  It was no biggie to me...I would think as long as they are repentant and want forgiveness so be it. Jesus Christ's ransom sacrifice still applies to them I would think. Many still don't like them being in the congregations with their children.

  There have been worse cases of criminals killing witnesses children and then becoming a witness in the same congregation themselves. Then some said they would much rather have their children killed then have them molested and the witnesses who did in to remain in the congregation!
  One sister even called a good friend of her's in the legal department and was on the cell phone with him for several minutes in the car while we were in the service group to try to get some answers. She didn't approve of just going up to the offender, them choosing to lie and say they didn't do it and then the whole issue is dropped basically. Of course, we need to wait on Jehovah in a situation like that.
  
  I would like to just think that these are very emotional times and things are said in the heat or anger or pure emotion from mothers or other witnesses that wouldn't be said otherwise so its probably just nothing. I just pray that it stays nothing...

  This JWZONE thread has grown to 4 pages, and some of the latest posts indicate that DATELINE is definitely having an impact on JW R&F. It even has this "unique" group of JWs grumbling 'mongst themselves, which is rare on a JW DB.

  Also, note that there is a separate thread about yesterday being a record day for the number of JWZONE visitors. The Adm must know that JWD is the referring link, yet they have allowed this thread to continue.

  Makes me wonder how many "UnderCover Brothers" are over there? rofl rofl :)

  At the end of our bookstudy the overseer brought up the subject of the show that will air tonight.

  He said that if we decide to watch the show, it was up to us, but he wanted to share some scriptures with us. The two he shared were:

  Job 13:16 "He would also be my salvation, For before him no apostate will come in."

  Phillipians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well spoken of, whatever virtue there is and whatever praiseworthy thing there is, continue considering these things."

  I wasn't planning on watching the show and those verses sealed that decision. Very timely counsel.

  JWs' Letter to Dateline

  i just got a copy of the society's letter to dateline as to why they would not agree to an on-camera interview.. they said that since dateline told them that most of the people that they were interviewing considered themselves active jws, that for the headquarters to make a statement that it would make it appear as though "brother" was speaking out against "brother".

  and that a nationally televised program was not the appropriate forum for them to work out their differences.

  (this is interesting since the pandelos and barb have been dfed, haven't they?).

  Is the episode going to be a 20 minute segment or the whole hour?

  SL casually "mentioned" in a post this morning that Dateline would be 30 minutes long.

  When I expressed disappointment that such was not the "promised" full hour, Hawkaw (aka Freddie Franz) stated that SL had never "promised" that the Program would be one hour, BUT that I had "assumed" such (just like I "assumed" that Armagedon was coming in 1975).

  I hope that I'm wrong, BUT I get the feeling that Dateline is going to be as big a disappointment as was Sixty Minutes.

  First, the .... delay ... .

  Then, televised during Book Study times for half of North America.

  Now, we learn that the airtime has been "sliced and diced" to 1/2 of what had been indicated, with Hassan deleted entirely.

  Look closely at Dateline's ad:

  Dateline NBC investigates allegations that Jehovah's Witness members have covered up cases of child molestation in the Church. Dateline Correspondent John Larson talked to former and current Jehovah's Witnesses who say that Church elders protected the alleged molesters and kept secrets that might have put children at risk.

  From the first time I read this, I have suspected that NBC was going to edit this Program in such a way that blame is shifted away from the WTS, and placed on the backs of a "few irresponsible local Elder Bodies". I wouldn't be surprised if NBC even has included material showing that the WTS has given such Elders "proper instructions and training", such that the WTS comes out of this with "clean hands".

  The case continues, it has already been refiled. Mr. Anderson assured me there is no way the case will not go forward.

  THAT'S IT??? NO FURTHER DETAILS OR EXPLANATION???

  Jeffrey Anderson, the grand slayer of religious organizations, whose genius gave rise to the delusional scheme to sue religious organizations under "Ricco", is so stupid as to file the lawsuit in the wrong courthouse???

  Me suspects that there is much more to the story, and as usual, if such info is favorable to the WTS, don't count on "THE BIG MAN" to tell us about it. (PathofThorns is "the little man.")

  Me further suspects that there were other WTS-favorable rulings that culminated in the Judge dismissing the lawsuit against WTS.
