is it wrong that i don't seem to miss them?
i know that this can be painful for many and i wonder why it doesn't seem to bother me?

I cannot control the actions of others, and wont try to. It makes for unneccisary stress. I prefer a stress-free life. I just use it to teach my kids how not to be, using JW's as my example. They also dont miss the shunners.... and wont.

ok everyone...what is everyones opinion on terrorism...i myself, feel that something else is going to happen, possibly on 9/11/02....what is everyone else's thoughts....not necessarily the same as mine...but does anyone think another attack will come?

my jw niece called me last night on the phone.
she is having a pampered chef party (for those of you who don't know what these are, it's like a tupperware party except they cook a meal and sell the cooking stuff).
it is going to be at my jw sister's house and all the dubs will be there....including my "best" friend who ratted me out to my sister regarding us celebrating christmas last year.. i am not invited....but my niece would like me to buy some stuff and to make up for shunning me she is offering to give me her hostess discount....woohoo huh?.
I am with Skully on this one.... I woulda treated her like a telemarketer.

i have to admit that it was just about the very first thing that i did when i finally received that sumbeam of enlightenment that jw's were simply not anything special.
i drove out to a country pub, bought 2 panatellas and a half of red barrel, and spluttered my way through my first cigar n' pint.
Not sure I agree with that, when it comes to kids v adults. As adults, we can and should speak honestly while taking into consideration whom we are speaking to. As kids, they dont have a grasp on that yet. That is our job.
Total freedom to speak ones mind to anyone anywhere could lead to many problems, no? I would never tell you how to raise your kids tho, do as you will. I know how I wish mine to act and I lead them that way.

My daughter lied about cheating on a test at school.... had I ignored it and not corrected her about it, she would have assumed it was cool, that she could do it again. I didnt, and she wont.

Feel free to make any comments you like to me... I dont offend. More liberal with your kids? Maybe, maybe not. I only know what you say here. To encourage a 5 yr old to be rude seems like setting him up for some surprises when he gets out into school....

No one is attacking.... I guess I am just trying to understand the diff between smoking comments and not soda/hamburger/hotdog/candy comments. Maybe kids also tell people they chouldnt be fat? I dont know....

I have been shunned for the better part of 30 years.... and it is to the point that I tell the kids thier family tree starts with us, on my side of the family. I have learned to hate, as they do. I shun the shunners.
I also blame the WTS, but only in their leadership of this. It takes a certain personality flaw to follow the JW's blindly and for very long, so my family most likely would have been ignorant and hateful without the WTS.
Enjoy life your own way. It is great not having to answer to anyone, and taking an active role in heading in your own direction.
Shun those that practice shunning.

My kids would never tell an adult how they were wrong in anything they do. It is not thier place to do it and is disrespectful. Mine dont like smoke, I tell them to not get in my face then when I have one lite. Simple solution.
Your initial post said "smokers", not family member smokers.
