Oh No, Not Again!
by Sentinel inlast night, around 8:30 (sat., 10/19), it appears the serial snipers struck again.. if you travel south on down route 95, past spotsylvania, where two shootings took place, you come to a small town called ashland, va. there is a pondersoa steak house right off the highway.
a 37 year old man was walking out with his female companion, and he was hit by a single bullet to the abdomen.
they closed off route 95 entirely.

I dont think there will be another airliner incident, at least not soon. That is where most people are focused, which gives the bad guys another advantage... not many paying attention.
This govt has been trying to protect us from ourselves for a few generations now, to the point that most people depend on them. That is where the fear and frustration are coming from now. Those of us that have spent most of a lifetime ignoring thier mandates have seen this coming and tried to warn others. Things are ripe for many more attacks.

some of them might have done this because they do not like marriage, and others have done this as a step towards getting married.
in all, in my post-witness life i find that i have no problem with either view.

It took 2 DUI's (drunk driving), some jail time, and 2 motorcycle crashes (one a head on with a car) to get me to rethink things. I did, it worked, and I enjoy it.
I was warned that many couples, when a drastic change is made like I did, usually dont survive it. Opposites attract, they say, and when one of the people do a turnaround, the other no longer is attracted. We worked thru it tho and made it.

Not sure how unique my story on this is...
I was living with some biker chick back in '80. I was in the reserves, waiting to go back on active duty anytime. She had a kid, they both lived in my place. I worked second shift, and came home to an empty place... she ran off with her kids father. I was pissed.
I ran into some local Outlaws and they were looking for this dude too, for other reasons. They suggested that I take the gal he left behind, for revenge of sorts... sounded like a plan to me. I did it, with no guilt at all.
I left for active duty shortly after that, only going out with her a month before leaving. We wrote and called each other while I was away, for almost a year. I would get drunk and call on the phone at all hours... and one nite one of us said about getting married. We still dont remember who it was, we were both trashed and on the phone. We married in '83 ... had kid 1 in 85.. kid 2 in 90... and are still going strong.
She knew nothing of my past when we married, not that it was hidden, it just never came up. She learned how things worked in my world too... at the wedding reception, all my bro's danced with her and told her "Remember, we knew him first" .. most women woulda got pissed, she didnt. She knew how it was.
What are the secrets to making it almost 20 years? None that I know of. We do take trips seperately... we do different things for hobbies, and we have never been nosey about each others business. We all eat a sit down dinner each nite, or most nites. We never yell at each other. And we dont get drunk. It just works.

Maybe the difference is between immigrants and illegal immigrants .. I live in the Mecca for illegals, Phoenix, AZ. There are laws on the books against it, yet it is accepted. Because of this, some "bad" illegals may get in with them.
This is only part of the problem tho, as I see it. Years of being easy on crime has also taken its toll. Kids grow up with no fear of punishment, and as adults, they do whatever they want. Many adults are put into mandatory prison terms with real violent criminals, when thier crime was not only non-violent, but in reality a non-crime (contempt of court, owning a joint, etc). They come out well educated in the ways of violence.

Whoever is doing this knows that the general public is not armed, so he/she is safe from thier reactions. He/she also knows how the govt agencies operate, so he is safe there too.
It was not our govts job to protect us, just our borders. It has evolved in that direction, over 200 years.
I dont live in or around DC, so my opinion of how to deal with it is limited. If this happened in Phoenix, tho, where so many carry pistols on thier belts, eye witnesses may become the ones that stop the sniper/spree killer/terrorist.
