  Yep... 3:30 PM.... hellofva shaker. I too am on the 2nd floor of a 3 floor building, the floor bounced up and down like a trampoline. Its all over the radio news now, getting reports in from all over the county. No reports of injuries or damage.

  the jehovah's witnesses have qualcomm stadium from june 11th to the 13th and the spanish jehovah's witnesses have it the 18th.

  what is going on?

  would there be any groups there that i could contact to join with or help me start an outreach to jehovah's witnesses?

  My Mother was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer

  today my mother got results from a biopsy she had on tuesday.

  she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and has to have surgery to remove the thyroid.

  the doctor said this type of cancer is almost always curable which is good news.

  They iodized salt to cure goiters for the masses....

  And blood tests are about the only way to test for thyroid levels (TSH).

  I have/had thyroid cancer.... softball size tumor on the back of the thyroid. It is the "cancer of choice", grows slow and is curable. Mine was removed in 1989 and as far as I know, the cancer is still gone.

  The iodine treatment is used to fine tune the actual removal. Iodine only attaches to thyroid cells, so by being radioactive it burns any left over and possibly cancerous cells. I went thru 3 treatments, 4 days of isolation each time.

  What is worse than the removal is getting the Synthroid (pills for replacement hormones) to the correct level. It is a bitch, and the patient can be a bitch while testing levels. It took me years to get it right, and they just changed it again which may have caused my diabetes (we are looking into that currently).

  Tell your mom to not worry much (easy to say), that she will be fine. And when she goes for the iodine treatment, get her some books to read... its damned boring and no one will come near her.

  I ride without, it is a choice in my home state. I also ride without here in sunny California when I get up in the mountains.

  Daughter Has Lump On Throat

  last week, my middle daughter, 15, found a large lump in her throat.

  it was about the size of a quarter.

  when she pointed it out, it was very visible.. the doctor said, after viewing the ultra-sound pics, that it was either a cyst with an unusual hardened mass inside or a carsanoma, [not sure of spelling] a cancer attached to her thyroid.

  My doc told me that thyroid cancer (what I have) is the cancer of choice. It is slow growing and easy to cure, sorta.

  It may only be just a lump too, and nothing more. Let me know if I can help ya.
