I ride one of my bikes everyday, in Phoenix, with a population of several million. You havent lived till you do 80 MPH in rush hour traffic in 4 lanes of traffic. While it doesnt scare me, it keeps me on edge.

For those of you driving around a motorcycle, there are a few things you can do to keep them safe, and save yourself some heartache from killing them.

Keep your distance. A cycle can stop much faster than a car or truck. NEVER tailgate a motorcycle, no matter what, besides hitting them, you are distracting them.

Watch for hand signals. Left arm out is a left turn, left arm bent up is a right turn. Left arm out with the hand open facing you means SLOW DOWN FAST.

Bikes have the total use of the entire lane they occupy. So many times a car will pass me and come into my lane, sharing it with me.

In California, bikes can "split lanes" legally. This means that on the highway, bikes can run between lanes, passing cars. This is done for several reasons and is safe as long as you dont squeeze them in or open your door. They are opening up space by not sitting in the traffic, so in the end, they are helping you.

Finally, never cut into a "pack" of bikes. Many times, we put the newer riders in the middle of the pack, to keep them safe. When a car cuts in, it generally ends up in a close call or worse.

I always wave at car drivers that coulda pulled out on me but didnt... my way of saying "thanks for not killing me".

over the following weeks though out october you can register your cheers for chavy, huddy and miggy as they march on through to thier 5 world searies title in oakland and 10th over all for the franchies.

since the oakland a's are the official team for x-dubs we can join together in rooting for tim hudson, mark (agent) mulder, barry (cy young) zito, eric chavez, migel (mvp) tehada, jermain dye and the rest of the guys.

i know when it comes to pedophiles we are young girls or teenage girls who have been molested by men.. i know of 2 cases where a teenage boy is being seduced by an older woman in the congregation.. .

i know of one when i was a jw in my congregation.

she was 24 and he was 15 1/2 - 16 when they meet.

Should We Be Imitators

wt always claimed that everyone imitates somebody.

they said that they were imitating jehovah, jesus, isaiah, or some other bible character in some ways or another.

they claimed the rest of mankind were imitating their own idols, heros, and ultimately, the devil.

While I agree for the most part, I dont think there is much in life that is static. While we may mimic our parents as kids, or our siblings, we all reach a point (when mentally healthy) where we can find ourselves. Some people dont want to, some people can't, but the majority manage fine in cutting thier own course thru life.

Coming from a fatherless home, I always gravitated towards the older guys around me, father figures. There are loads of humorus stories related to that, with my piss poor judgement abilities. That said, I eventually found my own way to do things. None of it involved religion, and I didnt have the need for a role model. I learned to follow my gut. I trust it, but not many people, for the decisions that involve me or my family. I am teaching the kids about "the gut" now, and they are enjoying it.
