  when eloise dupuis gave birth to her son in 2016, there were complications where a blood transfusion would have saved her live.

  however, she refused and died; to the horror of the medical staff and the entire province of quebec.. two years later, there was a change in politics and the topic came back up in the media.

  the parents of eloise dupuis, obviously exhausted by the media coverage, wrote a comment to a well known news paper in quebec.

  Okay, you need to seriously stop this BS. You are embarrassing yourself. The WT are the ones stripping people of freedom and forcing people into their mold, and you KNOW this. Stop spinning things around to suit your twisted logic. Victims of abuse will say and do anything out of fear of retaliation from their abusers. Don't you EVER blame victims for this. We have talked on this very site about how people have taken their own lives due to the fear and guilt placed on them as victims of the WT cult. What happened to Eloise is no different.

  several years ago unless i was dreaming i read a watchtower quotation that effectively said that they would execute us as disfellowshipped individuals if the law would allow.. was i dreaming?.

  Morpheus I was in no way attempting to create any sort of "illusion." I was merely sharing an anecdote of an incident that surprised me, and was curious as to what other people thought of it and whether they have experienced anything similar.
  
  I know that the WT has the gall to sing the praises of children who would rather die (and who HAVE died) rather than accept blood. I also know that they have gone so far as to applaud pregnant women who have risked their own lives and that of their unborn babies in order to uphold their gross misinterpretation of scripture.
  
  There is no illusion they can create that will ever convince me that they are anything but evil.

  DATA-DOG She's a woman, yes, but I don't see what that has to do with anything. Unless you're talking about the scripture that implies all of the anointed would be men because "they don't defile themselves with women," or whatever the case was.

  I just overheard her on the phone with another friend, telling them about the transfusion. She explained that the friend who accepted blood was raised in the truth but was never baptized.
  
  I am now even more surprised that she is okay with the transfusion.

  An anointed JW just gave her blessing on a blood transfusion. She essentially admitted that the only thing that would deny someone a transfusion is obedience to an organization run by flawed humans. That without commitment to said organization, Jehovah doesn't actually care what you do. And best (or worst) of all, she admitted that her friend made the right choice in order to save her own life and continue to care for her children.
  
  How is it that they can see the glaring issue, clear as day, yet be so blind to it at the same time?
