  Kwin nail on head basically jws can take basicaly anthing that is not whole blood, but you can't talk to other jws. it is basically don't ask don't tell. At our hall the PO made it very clear this polict is between you, God, and your DR.

  all of us could document the written false prophecies of the wtower, 1799, 1874, 1914 -15-18-19-1935-75.by 2000....etc but how about the unwritten ones?

  They dont have to move 607. they already admitted the secular date is 587. They basically keep two sets of books. 607 for 1914 and 587 for people that actually trust the encyclopedia britanica, encarta and national geographic. The publication they said 587 is the secular date I believe is nolonger available it was made in like 1992 I have one around here someplace. It was unuseually um tolerant. Maybe they made it as part of the ngo thing and scrapped it once they got in.

  Um that the end must be close because people are more violent (wait i think thats a written one). Because people are less violent (um here.... at least in the good neigborhoods). That there are more open homosexuals(I don't know how but it must relate to sodom and gonorrhea). There are less homosexuals (then aids moved on to black people so now its less everybody). That the economy is too good (because people are buying and selling). Because the economy is too bad (because people aren't buying and selling like they used to)

  Oh I get it the "strong" witnesses will abstain totally from blood and may die. The "weak" ones will get some type of transfussion. The minors will still be a football for the branch offices to play with because they have to do what ever the watchtower's lawyers decide the local powers that be demand.

  The hlc brothers don't care if you take blood or not their only real job is to do pr and make sure the wts is not liable. So weither you get blood or not depends on what the brach wants not you. So you may be forced to take blood if they feel it would damage their legal standing if you died.

  Thats the tragedy. You can't do what you need or your child need, you have to do what they need. It is sickening when they try to deprogram a person that was intent on abstaining from blood. Where is the crediblity? Do you want people to abstain from blood or don't you?

  I have the new blood DVD it clearly in medical terms (over the head of most JWs including JW nurses I know) tells the doctors when they should give JWs blood transfusions. Now why on earth would a video serise suppossedly about transfusion alternatives basically say in fancy speak when their blood count gets bellow this mark transfuse them. So what are the doctors to do when they get to that point in real life? "Well the video says now that your below this mark to transfuse you." Oh wait... thats the same practice they use every day with their non jw patients . What gives?

  the united nation scandal and all other Watchtower Society scandals

  i was recently talking to a jw elder at my job that i have been working at for over 20 years(he knows that i am da'ed but still talks to me trying to get me to come back) and i brought up the un scandal and all of the wts scandals that are hitting the wts.

  he said it does not surprise him that "apostates" would try and deceive many jw's with lies and 1/2 truths.

  i told him that i can get a printed copy of the un ngo membership and that the wts was a member for over 10 years.

  TB "so as to not stumble their brothers" their was nothing wrong with being an ngo but because some may be stumbled by it they cease affiliation with the UN. At least that is what any JW with a brain and no sense of honesty would say. I'd say because they could not risk the bad publicity of actually returning to babylon the great, but in real life they never left, and there was no babylon the great.

  in the large jw reference bible (page 1578) is a drawing of a man dying on an upright pole.

  in penton's book, apocalypse delayed, there is a reference on page 342 to that illustration, mentioning it is only one of 16 drawings, 13 of which show a cross beam.

  ~Please help answer this question about a Watchtower doctrine~

  does anyone know what year the wtbts started teaching the mortality of the soul doctrine?

  did it preceed the earthly hope doctrine?

  i'm curious to know if the wtbts started teaching that your body is your soul, so that they could explain what happens to those with an earthly hope or who look forward to an earthly, fleshly resurrection.. knowing the answer to this question would help me let go of that brainwashing, that we don't have a separate, spirtual soul.

  LL what about mel gibson movie? He has Jesus Ressurected in the same psuedo-gnostic fashion the watchtower promotes. His body disolves (the burial cloth deflates), and Jesus materializes beside the cloths. This may have been just a cheesy melodramatic hollywood sfx (looks more supernatural than jesus comming to life looking like the mummy), and nothing more, but in greater theological context do you know exactly where do the recreated vs resurrected religions stand.

  The watchtower used to use the phrase "put to the stake". So impaled is a proper term. The problem is the watchtower is shy about its public image. I have heard talks speaking about Jesus possiblely and early christians being ran throught but not any explict commentary in printed material imply this. Infact I am sure most people even JWs don't promote about him dying on a pole as a JW belief. I have heard two JWs talk about Jesus dying on the cross during a comment. One sister laughted and said at the end "Oops I am sure the elders will be meeting me in the back room at the end of the study."

  I am sure if they did not have all those pictures of christon a pole people would forget. even quicker. Just like how the wts waffles about Jesus being Michael the archangel. Sure it is possible for a JW to believe Jesus is not Michael, but the watchtower states you should believe he is if you know what is good for you.
