i'm not criticizing anyone's decision to da themselves...just wondering what the advantages are.. if the whole da thing is something made up by the gb why make them happy by playing by their rules?
how are they hurt by your decision?
why not just walk away?
When we decided to DA ourselves it was simply because we wanted it to be publicly known that we were no longer part of JW cult.It was the easiest way to not be pestered about not attending meetings or assemblies. Also kept well-meaning, (and some sisters really did have concern about ones leaving the org) from visiting or phoning us to encourage us to return. We felt like it was a clean break to allow us to continue our lives free from the rules of the org. We never did write an official letter at the time, my husband simply phoned the presiding overseer at the time and told him we wanted to disassociate. We never went back to a meeting after that.
i think it's all about fear.
they are always afraid of displeasing jehovah god, the elders, the circuit overseer.
witnesses are always walking on eggshells, hoping that they'll be good enough to make it thru the great tribulation.
Where? - Now that you lost every contact, where do you go? Much like a Kindergartener clinging on to his/her mother's leg because not knowing anyone, or being all alone.
That's so true..Dubs are so conditioned that the world is wicked.. worldly people are wicked..most are afraid to venture away or even dare to have an independent thought. I know when I was a faithful Dub and I read about apostates in the Watchtower, it made me shudder like they were demons just waiting to poison your mind..Now that I am apostate..I know we are more normal than any JW.. at least we are free-thinking...
once upon a time a female brain cell, by mistake, ended up in a man's head...... she looked around nervously, because it was so empty and quiet..
", she cried, but there was no answer...... "is anyone here?
" still no answer....... now the female brain cell started to feel really scared,.
Thats funny!!!! and so true!!!!! LOL

I think for most people with doubts it is hard to leave because they are afraid of losing family members. Also, people are hooked on the living forever after Armageddon promise.
Happy Birthday!!!!!
.
for those of you who know, don't tell.

when i got off for lunch today i decided to go to the walmart deli and get something to eat.
it is a huge store, groceries, a bakery, mc donalds, a bank , eye center, beauty shop, a great deli, and a huge garden center.
i had taken back a 80 gig hard drive dvd recorder ( i couldn't figure out how to hook up <smile> and had received 238.00. i picked up a couple of things in the store then went to the deli.
But, but, but, invisible pink unicorns don't dance!!
Well how can you know if they don't dance?? They are invisible after all..
If Annie feels better about her life believing God looks after her, good for her. Many beliefs make the world go around.Maybe she was posting to get reactions from us, and laughing at our posts. Maybe she is really searching for her own truth, deciding if the way of the Dubs is right for her. I think she does need to put it in perspective that God must have bigger concerns on his plate than her purse, but in any case...Glad you got your purse back , everything in tact
yep folks this is a fluff topic .
mine is yellow squash with onions.
it's a truely hideous dish.
I guess I was lucky because my mother herself acknowledged that she was a picky eater as a child. She said her parents would try to make her eat, even offering her pennies(big money in the 1930's) to eat. So she knew how it felt being forced to eat something you didn't like. She never made us eat anything we didn't want to.
