That is just more proof for me anyways that there isn't a god who cares. Why allow a mother to have hope that her child will survive only to lose her baby later. How heartbreaking for the mother.

Do you
by John Doe intremble when it thunders, and the window panes vibrate and you can hear the sloshing sound of rain against the parched roof baking in the august heat?
do you drift back in time when you hid your face in a pillow from the thunder and shaking walls and could scarcely think of looking at the magic monster in the clouds?
what name do you hear when the sound of the thunderous rainstorm calls?

There was the most spectacular thunderstorm when my husband and I stayed at our cabin up north which is by a small lake. The storm was right above us and the thunder made the cabin shake and the windows rattled so hard I thought they would break. The lightning was so bright it lit up the entire lake so I could see across it like it was daytime. It didn't scare me but I felt such awe that nature could be so violent but at the same time so beautiful. My husband slept right thru it all,,,He was annoyed at me in the morning that I didn't wake him up to watch it also,, lol

Odd experience - completing a hospital registration form...
by Princess Daisy Boo inso you all know yesterday that i had a minor surgical procedure done, right (well if you didn't, now you do, and you can stop reading and go an post something on my pity party thread).
you know how you get given a zillion forms to complete and sign - all my medical history, my family's medical history etc.
well we get to the question of religion and i write "no religion".

Well, I was bridesmaid for a jw friend in 1976. Her and her new husband played "IF" for their first wedding song when they danced. A year later he was bringing girls he picked up to have sex in their bedroom while she was working nite shift. She came home early one nite and caught them together in the bedroom. Guess that song wasn't a good omen for their marriage! Everytime I hear that song now, it gives me a bad feeling, not a romantic one.

In the60's to 70's I watched Mary Tyler Moore, Carol Burnett Comedy Hour,Andy Griffith show and Bewitched(funnily enough my mother did allow us to watch Bewitched but she usually planned our home bible study during the time period, I think on purpose so she wouldn't have any arguments from us In the 80,s Magnum PI and I also liked a corny show called Hart to Hart In the 90's Seinfeld, King Of Queens ,Sex in the City, Northern Exposure

Resurrection Hope - People in the Future who think they have lived before
by VM44 inaccording to the watchtower, a resurrected being is a body that has placed within it the memories and attributes of a person who had lived before.. the "life force" is transferred to the body to bring it alive.
also according to the watchtower, the "life force" is impersonal and contains no personality.
it is like electricity in that it is an actuating force.. ok, so in the future there will be billions of people with memories of having lived on the earth.

BurntheShips,, My comment was meant to be a little tongue in cheek, but I think most people would agree that life without some human closeness is not as enjoyable. That said,,, I was expecting a sensible comment to a legitimite question, thanks for your input anyways.Sorry I don't mean to change the topic of this thread!!!!

Well it has been twenty years since I left the dubs, but didn't they preach that the resurrected ones would be like the angels and not have sexual desires?.If so , I can't think of a good reason to be resurrected.
