As for the GB member, I'd hang him from a tree and beat him like a pinata. Hey, the WT allows that now, don't they?
Well,,, I have to admit I like that idea Nos.....LOL

Well.. JDubs always say that Jehovah takes care of them and rescues them from all sorts of dire situations, so I guess if he just lay there someone would come rescue us.... I think Dubs give off some kind of secret rescue beakon of some sort.
what strikes me on this board is the number of adult converts that have left the borg, either fading out or getting df'd.
from my experience (i was born into it, 2nd generation, left before getting baptized) most of the faders or escapees were also like.
me, born into it, never really accepted it and just bowed out at the first opportunity.
Mother started studying when I was 5,,, we didn't get seriously into it until I was about 11 as my father was very opposed. In my 20's I started to have doubts when I had my first child,, I knew I didn't want to bring up my kids in this cult...That's when my husband and I left... He had also been raised as a Dub since birth...
this is something that i would like thoughts on, well two things really.
i was disfellowedship about ten years ago, so witnesses reading this will say am bitter, apostate, whatever they like, couldnt careless really, am just an ordinary gal married expecting her first baby working etc... but is it or is it not unchristian to be ignorant?.
thats what some witnesses do to those disfellowshipped.
No.. it is not Christian the way JWS treat disfellowshipped people. They say the act in "Christlike" manner... but that is their own twisted view of Christians. Jesus did not shun or push away anyone. JWs are taught to think they are better than "worldly" people. Their religion is the only "true" religion...... There is nothing Christian or Christlike about them.... It is just another cultlike way the governing body came up with to keep the masses following.. if they are always afraid of the world and the "worldly people"... they will not stray........... I think Dubs check out apostate sites mostly because they are told it is wrong and evil and human nature being what it is........... they are curious and check it out.. then they feel guiltly and feel the need to try and bring us back into their cultlike life...... well ...that's my thoughts anyways.......
i used to try and avoid running into jw's after i was first d/f, but the past few years i have taken a different spin on it.
at my old job as a cashier if i was the only cash open then they had no choice but to have me wait on them.
the apprehension on their faces as they approaached was hysterical.
When I was a teenaged Dub, my best friend's sister was D'A for her conduct.. She liked wild guys and lived with a biker guy who rode with The Hell's Angels and ended up in jail for killing someone.. She had 2 kids with this loser..My friend and I would go and visit her and her baby daughters,,even though it was not allowed.. I didn't see why I shouldn't talk to her just because she made some stupid life choices.. She never tried to talk us into her wild life.... Anyways,,,,years later after I was married and we had decided to leave the org... she decided to come back as a JW.. She said it was a great life to bring your kids up in and she wante to bring them up as JWs....( As I said she always made stupid life choices)......A few years after we officially left,,,, I saw my former JW friend ,,,,her husband,, and her reinstated sister.... I stopped to say hello. because ..what the heck.. I did nothing I was ashamed of...... they all basically pretended I was wallpaper,,, I found this ironic,,,, as I had never shunned her when she was out.....guess she was effectively brainwashed......
i remember hearing of a failthful older brother who was attacked by vicious dogs while in service.
even though his clothes were shredded and he was bleeding he continued walking door to door to finish his assigned territory for that day.
Did you ever think "why don't they use some of our contributions to build a a bridge across that river or at least buy them a boat?"
That is the thinking of a logical person.... Iron Gland... Dubs would prefer that you have limb or life stripped from you... Makes for better experiences to use in their talks to inspire the mindless masses at the District Assemblies...
"in 1951, advocates of true worship learned something significant about the term religion.
some of them could well recall 1938 when, at times, they carried the thought-provoking sign religion is a snare and a racket.
from their standpoint then, all religion was unchristian, from the devil.
It never ceases to amaze me how the GB can keep changing their doctrines on different beliefs,,,, and put it down to "new light" and the faithful mind-numb Dubs just ride along with it.....my mother-in-law gets so excited everytime they do a complete turn on some doctrine...It seems it is spoke to them as some divine inspired revelation.. and they are just so fortunate(not lucky) to be priviledge to it
do you happen to have annoying, troublesome relatives (including all the inlaws), jws as well as non jws, that irritate you with their actions?
Yes... I have a few relatives like that... but we don't see them much.. as hubby and I feel..after breaking away from an annoying cult.. we don't need anymore stress in our lives.. including stressful relatives.. life is very peaceful....well for the most part...
have any of you who were ever "raised in the truth" really traced your doubts back to as early as you remember?
i would be interested in hearing what they were.. i started tracing my path of doubts.
doubts as a child:.
I began having doubts after the birth of my first child...There were some things that went on in the congregation that made me wonder if they really had the spiritual direction of God ....but I mostly felt that I didn't want my children raised in this life.. I had been raised a JW and didn't want my kids to go thru what I had ... When I started to discuss my doubts with my husband,, I found he felt the same way and after much discussion.. we both decided to disassociate ourselves...I found out many other things later on through this site...that I wasn't aware of.. It made myself and my husband even more sure that we made the right decision to walk away from the control of the JW society...
one time when i was a kid i had a lucid dream experience where i dreamed of talking to our lord, obviously i know that its all in my head but the experience was so powerful its stuck with me and i still think about it,
since ive tried to build a dream inducing machine but i wasn't able to so i just bought one: i got mine at www.thedreamq.com, i dont know of they're available elsewhere.
i have them all the time now and i just wanted to share this, you all should know that lucid dreaming is a religious experience thats not comparable, really,,,
Hi mark.. I don't need a dream machine,,, I always dream long technicolour dreams...they are best after eating chocolate or ice cream before sleeping.... although last nite,,,,,, I had a nitemare... I dreamt I was a JW again.... out in field service..placing lots of mags and books... shudder.... must have ate something really wrong last nite :)
