What Did You LOVE About Being a Jehovah's Witness?
by Seeker4 inok. minimus had his 'what did you hate about being a jw' thread, so i want to take a different tack on this.
i'll even start it.
i loved some of the get-togethers we had.

I liked that we had a big group of close friends, both guys and girls as teenagers in our congregation and also in the surrounding Toronto area..In the mid 1970's it was still ok to have big dance parties , go to discos and rollerskating Sunday nites. It was always lots of fun . By the time I was 19 and getting married though, the org cracked down on fun times and I felt sorry for the younger ones turning into teens who were not allowed to have any fun..Looking back.. we all lived in a dreamlike eurphoria of being right when the rest of the world was wrong... The society couldn't stand for the young people to be young for a while. Then I finally realized I was living in a life of no future and no meaning...

Interesting developments
by SickofLies inhello everyone, remember me?
for those of you who are new i produced a documentary on disfellowshiping in the kingdom hall.
the interesting thing is that i was df'ed not for committing and 'gross' sin, as you might think, but i was df'ed of litterally asking to many questions.. anyway, i've heard the following news co's and do's in the us are talking about my case, i have been barred from ever entering a kingdom hall again (police notice was enfocred on me) and for some reason i have been getting calls from elders from the hall i was booted out of lately (i have not returned or answered the calls as of yet).

HI SOL,,, I was wondering how things were going for you after the BIG meeting. It seems you have caused a bit of a shake up.Great job!!! I am curious as to what the elders would want for you. They are harrassing you now, aren't they??

I guess I won't be re-appointed as a servant again.
by rassillon ini will try to make a long story short.
me and my wife (faithful jw) had a problem with an evil pioneer sister elder's wife in our former hall.
through the course of trying to work it out we decided we would be better off in another hall.

I've always found it interesting that the R&F is required to be forgiving even without an apology, but for the Society to forgive there must be "heart-felt repentance".
Any question about who is supposed to be humble here?
I think you have just pointed out another method of mind control on the part of the society. You are NOT to have feelings or thoughts other than what they say you should..Plus it helps to keep the masses under control so they don't have to deal with personality conflicts and other matters of that kind.If you on the other hand do something against the society, it is a big deal to them as they don't want to lose control.

by gwyneth inive been a member of this board for just over four years, and i have never posted an introduction.
i mostly stick to the "fluff" threads, because they are safe.
i wont be attacked for an unpopular point of view, or hurt anyone elses feelings.

How to Revoke WTS' Tax-Exempt Status?
by doinmypart inthe irs (u.s. government agency responsible for collecting taxes & enforcing tax laws) can remove an organization's tax-exempt status if the organization has doctrine contrary to public policy, or it carries on propaganda.. as much as the wts prints on blood, not voting, shunning, etc.
which of these items can be submitted to the irs?
how does one submit a complaint to the irs?

Yes.. but at least most churches give back to the community in charity work or looking after the homeless or needy, The watchtower society gives nothing to society . It is a totally useless organization that only causes disunity in families and death to members who refuse blood transfusions.I think for a church to be tax-exempt, they should be giving to the community in some way.
