All I can say is: this thread shows the freedom of thought we have now we are freed from the borg. We can believe or question whatever we like without fear of disfellowshipping or alienation. No one really knows what is true in life , so much can't be proved simply by science or visible proof. Who knows.. there could very well be a Bigfoot. Why not?????I don't believe in God , but that doesn't make it absolute. There could really be a god who created us.Who really knows for sure. All I know is , its a great thing to be free to be able to debate and speculate on all these things.

Mr. Flipper & Son Hear, See, and Get Footprints of Bigfoot on Pack Trip
by flipper inso, the long awaited trip began for my son and i to return to the same place he heard a bigfoot a year ago in the forests of northern california.
the trip started out unfortunately for us to be a 7 mile hike instead of a 2 to 3 mile hike in to our base camp , as huge snow drifts covered the road , making it even inaccessible for 4 wheel drive, so , with packs on backs we hiked over 50 ft long snow drifts on places on the trail.
even snow was covering one creek near the lake we were destined for .

A, B, or C (and Y)

My answer is C: because the planet we live on is just a big rock , it is constantly shifting and changing. The bible is just a book written by men and if any kind of god created all this mess, He is not a loving creator, he is sadistic and likes to watch us suffer.

I remember cleaning out boxes in the garage shortly after we moved. The Book of Bible Stories was in a box along with a few other dub books. My son who was about 6 at the time found it and for some reason was fascinated and obsessed with it. Which upset my husband to no end!!!. He didn't like our kids being exposed to anything dub at that point. Anyways, I did let him look at it for a bit, then he got tired of it and we threw it out.In the garbage where all dub material belongs!!!

Well I have to agree with Pat , that if the elders are guided by holy spirit, they should be able to make the right decisions the first time. That was a big turning point for me to leave the org, when they wanted to disfellowship my mother because she was schizephrenic and would bring reproach on jehovahs name and all that BS. When I tried to reason with them, they asked me what I thought they should do. Guess I was being guided by the holy spirit too.?!?!?! a lowly female publisher. Gotta feel sorry for these guys, They are being mislead by a bogus printing company and then they think they have the right to punish and counsel .In god's name no less.

Don't understand a WT teaching? It's probably not important anyway:
by easyreader1970 infrom august 1, 1980 wt:.
is some point we have trouble in understanding really important?
does it affect the truly important things we have learned with the help of the "slave" class?

That is hilarious. Typical double-speak. If you don't understand it , don't worry about it, the society has it all figured out for you!!!

How did you find JWD?
by sweet pea inprompted by the thread about jwd v wts i wondered how many of you found jwd via the internet or friends/partners?

I goggled Jehovah's Witnesses. I wondered if there were others like me who had left or were thinking of leaving but weren't sure if it was the right thing to do. Even though my husband and I left some 20 years ago, some family still remain in and I have to admit sometimes when I had doubts about whether I did the right thing leaving. I always worried maybe I doomed my kids to die at Armeggedon.Finding this site helped me to understand the hypocrisy of the watchtower society. I now know for sure that we made the right decision to leave.

I was baptised when I was 17, 1974 at the newly built assembly hall in Mississauga, Ontario. I really don't remember much about it, I can't remember how many were baptised or how old they were. I remember sitting at the front of the hall where soon to be baptised ones sat for the "special" talk and we announced publicly that we were ready to be baptised before walking up the aisles to change for the baptism. I remember seeing my mom and other friends beaming with pride at me. I felt happy and proud that I was doing something really life changing.Funny as others have said, I felt a little disappointed and let down that I didn't feel anything different and the world still felt the same. OH well...10 years later my husband and I left the WTsociety together and have never regretted that decision.
