Sorry, Mary. But, personally, I don't think Johnny went overboard. The sarcasm was well suited to the conversation he was relating. That sort of "shock treatment" works very well under some circumstances. I've used similar on my mother (who is not a JW).

Sorry, I hit enter before I meant to.
I agree, IPSec. I always wore pants in service in the coldest months. I even wore them to the meetings because we had to travel quite a distance and it wasn't safe to travel in "Society approved clothing", but I remember being counselled when one brother thought I was wearing them too early in the winter. I asked him if he was wearing long underwear under his dress pants. He said yes. So I told him he was a hypocrite and when I saw him wearing shorts outside in that temperature, I'd wear a dress.
That was the last time anyone said anything.
But most don't have the guts.
