The Gift
by Cellist ina young man wanted to purchase a gift for his new sweetheart's birthday, and as they had not been dating very long, after careful consideration he decided a pair of gloves would strike just the right note: romantic, but not too personal.
accompanied by his sweetheart's younger sister, he went to nordstrom's and bought a pair of white gloves.
the sister purchased a pair of panties for herself.

very weird Sunday morning phone call
by Cellist inthis morning i was lying in bed, contemplating getting up, when the phone rang.
i briefly considered not answering it, but my grandfather has been ill and i thought i'd better answer.
what happened next has left me feeling like i'm in the twilight zone.

The end is near!
by Cellist ini'm reading a book by roy strong entitled, "the arts in britain - a history" and i came across an interesting point (one of many, lol).
it states, 'what sets the 1640s and 1650s apart is this all-pervading sense that mankind was living in the last age of the world.
the apocalyptic atmosphere which was unleashed by the civil war in 1642 cut right across society and was to ebb and flow in intensity for two decades according to the turn of events and then, in 1660, with the return of the monarchy, plunge underground.
