Lola, the book I just finished reading, "Bare Bones" by Kathy Reichs was a good book. I've just downed a couple of glasses of wine, so my memory isn't at it's finest right now. If I think of any more I'll post it tomorrow.

what are we all up to today?
who wants to talk for a while?
we can talk about anything, any takers?.

Lola, it seems most of the JWs are celebrating these days. Just most of them call it by a different name. They don't actually put up a tree for Christmas, but they do everything else.

Hi Lola. What type of books do you usually read? I might not be around much longer tonight to answer though. Our plans for the evening just took a complete turn about. While we were eating dinner a friend phoned and invited us to a concert.
I like Natalie Merchant. Has she put anything new out lately?

we must congratulate them for their business genious, their marketing methods and the subtle way they teach these to their followers who think that they are been taught religion rather than marketing.
for their ability to present many pairs of contradictory ideas without their followers objecting to this.
for their ability to make their followers accept with admiration totally silly ideas .
Sorry Greendawn, I usually catch the spirit of a post. In that spirit, they deserve a standing ovation.

Greendawn, I'll admit that they're good at what they do. But I'm not sure if that qualifies for congratulations or condemnation.

It sounds as if you have a busy evening ahead of you. I wish we had more stores to shop in here.
I'm reading a P.D.James mystery right now, and a book on the Spanish Inquisition called "The End of Days". Guess which one I'm hoping to have time to read tonight.

I tended to not clap, too. I always found clapping to be somewhat idiotic unless it was at the end of a talk. Then I could view it as appreciation for someone's hard work.

hey all!
i came upon this board as i was trying to find some social doctrine answers regarding jehovah's witnesses.
i've been looking over this board and feel i've found a new home.
Hello Katie, welcome to the board. I'm glad you found us. I'm also glad you researched the religion before you could get sucked in!

Well, I'll probably play my cello. We have a short concert coming up. Hopefully I'll get to relax a bit and do some reading. What are your plans after work? Besides eating, that is.

Hi Lola. I just came in from washing the car and I see you got stuck with Chinese food. You have my sympathies.
