Nathan - I have the information on turning wine (and cider) into vinegar. That's on my list of "to do" things. Mead is supposed to make a wonderful vinegar too.
I haven't quite figured out what the difference is between apple cider and apple wine. I think it's the alcohol content. What I'm making is going to be in the 13 - 14% alcohol range.

are they in their best moments right now, since they never had as many witnesses as now worldwide, or were their best days somewhere in 1950's or 60's or 70's before deception set it.

The whole religion is based on deception. You would have to define what you considered a "best moment". Quality of people? Financial wealth? Rate of growth? Quality of literature? etc., etc.
There was lots of excitement and feeling of forward movement in the '80's.
Personally, my very best Watchtower moment was when I quit.

Kudra - Yes. Bears. They're usually don't do anything too bothersome. Last year one flattened a compost bin. Left the other ones alone because they had some onions sitting on top. I'm unsure about the blackberries because they're rather borderline hardy for this area. I was thinking they might be worth the effort if they made good wine. I might still go for it.
Fairchild - We plan to make dandelion wine this summer. Hopefully it'll turn out a little more drinkable! LOL
Justsomedude - Did you use a recipe? And proper equipment? Just wondering, because it's not supposed to be that hard to get a drinkable wine. Really good wine is another story.
I have to transfer my very first attempt at wine into a secondary container tomorrow. It's still going to be a LONG while before I'm drinking any.

this reasoning was recently used to argument why we all should fill out our monthly report slip and hand it nicely to the secretary.
the elder explaining this used the organization book and starts mentioning the bible accounts that include numbers and figures in them!

The only way you'll be able to turn that scripture into an ok for a booze party is if you also incorporate the scripture that has Jesus turning water into wine.
There are also scriptures that condemn counting.

Kudra - It takes 3lbs of honey to make a gallon of wine. We just bought 15lbs of honey bulk. Yes, it's more expensive than growing your own fruit. I'd actually like to get a beehive, but I'm afraid the bears would demolish it.
I'm glad to know about the blackberries. I was actually thinking of planting some this year. Maybe I won't bother.
Kwintestal - I'd like to make beer someday. Is it harder or easier than wine?
Finally-free - I just ordered some red currant bushes. I've read that the wine is really good. Obviously you agree with that sentiment.
It's nice to know there are other wine making enthusiasts here.

Yes, I got some recipes from a site in Texas. (Jack Kellar) We have a friend who makes wine and my parents used to make it when I was young. I've never tried strawberry. So far blueberry is my favourite.
Have you been winemaking for long? Have you ever made Mead? (Honey wine)
