Deckster, I wouldn't miss it for the world. I believe Trav and Liz will be there too, if not I'll have to bum a ride from someone.
Congratulations again. :)
May life be all you wish it to be.

before certain posters leap to their feet and dribble spittle down their forelocks, i do not think this man insane as i have actually seen seventy year old men on bicycles drive through the streets of paris at this speed while smoking the draft papers of president bush rolled up tightly in dick's cheney... hs .
I can think of no cooler reason to get locked up, though.
You've got to be freaking kidding me, Sirnose. What the hell is cool about this whole thing? Pure ego. "Look what I can do, look how close I can come to killing lots of people"

lets say that armageddon was imminent and you would deduce that you wouldn't be saved, who would you want to be with to enjoy your last moments alive?
My close friend Lizz. She is the strongest person I know. Thanks Lizz, although you'll likely never read this, I would trust you with my life, and I would trust you with my death.

God damn this man. What a {edit} idiot. {Edit} idiot.
Human life being risked for a 10 minute joy drive. What has the world come to? Where is the love?

i was looking at the news yesterday, and it was reported that new york is having a power outage that is affecting over 50,000 people.
it, also, said that st. louis was going through a power outage as well.
i wonder if there are any posters here affected by it?
I work near St Louis. The boil orders are now off as far as I know. There were more than 500,000 homes without power at the peak. We are down to around 25,000. Some in my office have been without power since last Wednesday. :(

i have had about 5 digital watches since my nde when i was young.
every single one of them reset itself regularly.
2 of them i gave away because of the problems i had, and their new owners (my father and brother) never had a problem with the watches since..
Skeptic:
So, he says "most" of the 80% of NDEers stop watches... This means that at the very least, 51% of the 80% stop watches. That places us at about 40% at the very least. Again, comparing this to the 4% of non-NDEers, there is a chasm of difference.
As for Morse's numbers, I quote: "Morse says 4% of normal adults and 2% of out-of-body experiencers claim they make watches stop". An OBE is not an NDE, and vice versa. Do not equate the two. This statement says nothing about NDEers, only OBEers.
Undecided:
Thanks for the input mate. Sounds like your friend had quite an interesting experience, and rather reminiscent of a number of accounts of NDEs I have read.
As for the electricity in your body... lol... I wish I could put a computer together with impunity. Me and RAM have a bad record... lol
IP:
Have you ever tried doing it consciously mate?
Purps:
Makes you wonder what kind of forces it would take to stop a watch dead in it's tracks, eh? :) MRIs are very powerful machines. I know in my personal experience with watches, most of this happened when I was in high school, and I was nowhere near any powerful magnets.

I'm glad you pulled through... the board wouldn't be the same without you, dear. Thanks for your input on the "poll" too. Duly noted ;)
Kudra:
I only just noticed you are female... lol, and here's me calling you "mate". Anyway, sleep well and have a great day tomorrow. Enjoy.
I think I'm going to head to my sleeping bag on the floor of my cubicle too for an hour, and then back up to do more programming on this damn project. Hope to hear more from everyone ;).
Love and laters

Midwich:
Interesting... thanks for that. I'll see if I can contact the other NDEers and see if we can find a decent watch with an insulated back. Could possibly go a long way to helping us tell what time it is without taking out our cellphones ;) As for the "cheap watch" thing... unfortunately (in my experience) this has little bearing. First, at least one of the watches I had was a name brand that I recall. Also, when I gave two of the watches away, they worked fine. Either way though, this still doesn't negate the fact that it could all be due to electrical impulses.
Kudra:
Yup... certainly the shock from a defibrillator (or, say, an electrical outlet with 240v coursing through it) would be a great stress on the body, possibly shorting a few resistors. Good point mate.

Aye, could well have been nervous mistakes. The human tendency to make errors when under stress should never be underestimated ;)
For a second, let's take away those terms "spiritual" and "paranormal", they are only labels that somewhat limit discussion, due to preconceptions and misconceptions about things we simply don't understand (and I'll be the first to admit, I don't fully understand any of it).
Let's take this down to the basic facts. 80% of NDEers in a (admittedly possibly biased) survey said they can't wear watches. 100% of the NDEers that I know (plus myself) cannot wear watches. I know of only one other person that has not had an NDE that has the same recurring problem with watches. What is it about the act of dying and being resuscitated, or being near death, that causes this issue?
I'm thoroughly enjoying the discussion so far guys, thanks for everyone's point of view on this :)
