  Lisa, I do not have any response to such an unimaginable pain. I am not totally sure of your views on religion, but I say a prayer for you. Whether it goes to the ears of an ultimate creator, or whether it sends you a little strength just knowing we are thinking about you... I am not even sure. Please just know that we all love you and feel for you.

  Please note that I do not say these things lightly. There are two women in my extended family (one of which is my sister) that have been taken advantage of in this way. As I sit here, I am already shaking from anger at what this person has done to you. My own thoughts scare me when I get in this state, because I imagine in detail what I would like to do to these people. This sounds selfish, but please never tell me who this person is.

  Again Lisa, our hearts, minds and souls are with you in this time.

  i have always wanted to see him in concert.

  I'm not sure, but I've heard the Siegfried and Roy show bites. Cirque de Soleil is a pretty bright little round of fun. And Elton John... well he's a gay guy in a feather suit, but I do like his music.

  browsing online at 26.4k dialup

  i was just laying here plonking away at my computer dialed in at the high speed of, yes you guessed it 26.4k... that's 26.4 whole kilobytes per second.. at one time this was state of the art .. i shouldn't complain because it's a free service, but come on, 26.4k?.

  anyone else going this slow or is it just me?.

  I live outside of town, and I am lucky if I hit 20k mate... And high speed won't be available in my area for at least a year or two... sucky :(

  i really must be on here too much - 4000 posts and counting.. supreme one seemed so far away, not that long ago.. now it's a mere 1000 posts away - a drop in a bucket, six months at most, surely.... it seems so long ago, that i protested giving up my light-saber in preference of the fullness of "the force" imbued by the "emperor class".. and now another impending transformation.... to which i say.... .. .. .. .. .. .. ..

  how many religious people have done a critical examination on the bible/god/religion......more than an ex-dub has?

  the mormons possibly.. one only has to read some of the over 1 million posts on this board, to notice how much re-search various ones have done on these subjects after leaving the dubs.

  It may not be viewed as literal, by many but, as a repository of spiritual experience, it's a mine of information.

  As in any story, there are lessons to be learnt, even echoes of truth, and always a moral to the story. I do not disagree that there is some useful information in there, but that it is not to be taken as something to rule our lives by. Just like a good read of, say...The Hobbit can teach us the dangers of greed, but we would be stupid to live our lives believing that in some mountain there is a dragon guarding a great treasure.

  Again, it is a tool. We couldn't build a whole house just using a hammer, becuase it only has one use. But we also could not build a house without a hammer. Everything has it's place, including the Bible. I do not, however, hold the Bible in a very high place.

  Btw, "*************" is getting lame, too
