Do some WT phrases make you squirm?

for me it's "the doors of the ark are closing.

i can never forget as a child, being forced to see the graphic images in the publications showing families, mothers with little babies clinging to a rock and others drowning as the ark floats away.

fathers shaking their fists at god for destroying their families... it's like some of the little mind control still functioning in there somewhere causing a kneejerk reaction of uneasiness.... are there any others that bug you?.

Trying to find an old picture

i wonder if anyone can remember a drawing, i think it was in the old children book (pink/orange hard cover if i remember correctly), of babies being offered up as sacrifies to a false god.

the god looked like a huge chair/alter with flames ( i think) and horns.. .

i ordered "crisis of conscience" and a bible 2 days ago on amazon with super saver shipping and it's being delivered today!

last time i ordered books on super saver shipping it took 2 weeks - lol.

them apostates at the un and amazon must be working together

I think you're right on that!

Amazon sent me an e-mail telling me my order was delayed to the end of the month. A few minutes later, I get another e-mail from them saying the order was JUST shipped.

I happily received it from the mailman at my door ten minutes ago - two days after ordering it:

I think my cat is a crack addict! :S

ok, it isn't really crack... but it might as well be!.

i have to be very careful not to leave any plastic bags anywhere around my apartment or my cat will try to eat it.

i'm always paying close attention to the plastic bags that i bring home from the store... they all go straight in to a covered trash can so that the cat can't get them.. now, for the last two days he has been puking all over the place and i can't find any plastic that he might have been eating off of... but i am finding the plastic in his puke... so i know thats what is going one.

Didn't have time to check all the links provided by Xandria, but some may cover my thoughts.

My cat has been eating plastic for eleven years, yet has never vomited due to it. One of the first times we discovered it, she did end up with an obstructed bowel that had to be taken care of. Our vet gave some explanation about plastic is a petroleum product and there is some attraction to it by cats. For hairballs, there is the petroleum product used, called Petromalt and I think that's why they will lick that stuff so readily. They like it.

We always request paper bags at the grocery store because our cat will open cupboards and even drawers to get to plastic. She knocks over wastebaskets routinely digging for what she smells is in there (plastic of any sort.) The bedroom closet's sliding glass doors can be fully closed and she will sniff around and know there is a plastic shopping bag in there somewhere and get to it. It's amazing the amounts she has eaten before we catch her at it. We just don't understand how she can survive with all that going into her system. I mean, how does it digest?? It's gotta be some kind of addiction too I believe, and it may be tough for your kitty to kick the habit once it's begun. So please just take extra care in what you leave out and around.

anyway, this is an email i received this morning.

don't want to give any disrepectuful comments about it as this tragedy is overwhelming and i am grateful for any who have come out of this alive.

but yet i am still suspicious of any of these jw reports.

I couldn't help but think, while viewing the images from the devastated areas, that this very kind of massive death and destruction is exactly what adherents to the organization are looking forward to and preaching about daily...and,of course, most JW's will see this catastrophe as a sign that that day is drawing ever closer. How sick is that? If you don't believe like WE believe, this is what you will end up with.

this topic has been rolling around in my head for some time.

i don't expect that i'll write it perfectly as it needs to be articulated in different ways for different people...but i will do my best.

and worst of all, i am not expecting any kind of response that will satisfy me.

Hi Rune ~ and welcome!

You are reading my mind with your whole post. Now, isn't THAT kinda spooky?

All kidding aside, my husband hears me routinely hollering out the same "Why, Why, WHY???"

I told two sisters who came to the door after my walkaway, that if more people realized spirituality was a personal thing and that it needn't be tied to religion, how better off witnesses lives could be and conditions in the world. Why do dubs try to enforce THEIR form of "spirituality" on other's at their doors? They started to stumble for words and headed down the driveway quickly.

If we had not always had the questions propounded of, "why are we here?", "what is the purpose of life?" ETC.... WOULD we have spent so much time in our own lives (if not JW), delving into finding answers, and/or proclaiming that we HAVE the only truth out there on the subjects? I keep saying that I'm going to take an informal survey of folks of all ages and see how many ask those questions on a regular basis, if at all.

After we left, "worldly" friends sent us all kinds of material related to channeling.........insisting, "THIS is the WAY." My head was spinning with every word of explanation I read.

Now, we firmly believe in the adage, "EAT, DRINK, AND BE MERRY FOR TOMORROW YOU WILL DIE."

Enjoy life NOW!

i understand that bem was involved in a car accident a couple of days ago and she's suffering from some broken ribs and a broken toe and is in a great deal of pain.
