Let's be nice to him! Remember we were victims of mind control too and how easy a JW mind closes when they see anything critical. They need to see the proof that the JW religion, nice as it may seem at first, is a group that conditions and controls people's minds and can be dangerous.

I know things about some prominent people in the congregation and de elders know that I know..........They don't want it coming out so I figure that's why they keep their distance and don't give me (too much) grief........it's nice to be able to hold stuff like this over their heads.

whats awful is they feel the need to keep what they do quiet so as not to be censured for donating money to anyone other than the wtbs.

I compare having a JW upbringing to sexual abuse.
Just like there's sexual abuse, there is spiritual abuse.
After a child/person has been sexually abused for years, it's a challenging task to have a normal sexual life.
Similarly, when someone is fed with the artificial "WT spirituality" for years, it's hard to develop a normal sense of spirituality and to do the things that usually go with it, like prayer. That's why religion is such a big no-no for us ex-dubs. We've been abused.

Example: "I'm going to ask My Bible Study/Return visit to come to the meeting."
Total depersonalization and a symptom of typical cult recruiting .
