Leolaia,
I love the very vague and non-specific way the Society (...) refers to the music. So typical.
Me too. This inerent vagueness is their specialty.
There are a couple of things in the KM announcement that reveals a lot:
A number of pulishers have telephoned the branch office
regarding certain recordings of Kingdom songs sung in a
popular style that are presently being circulated among
Jehovah's Witnesses. They wonder if these recordings have
the organization's approval. We are aware of these
recording and would like to inform you that they do not
have our approval. Please do not circulate or download
these recordings from the Internet. We trust this
information will clarify matters. It proves three things:
1) That the R&F feels that, like a little child, they need to have the WT's approval for what they do in such situations and that they actually do seek the Society's guidance by getting in touch with Bethel .
2) That the WT feels very comfortable in that situation (they say 'the recordings don't have our approval') and that the Society replies to the publishers' inquiries knowing full well that it is performing the role of a paternalistic leader, someone who they need to turn to in small matters.
3) That the WT uses the word "organization" as an euphemism for "the organization's leaders." The collective "organization" (i.e, the rank-and-file) doesn't "approve" or "disapprove" anything, they simply comply with whatever the GB ("the organization") decides.

What Bethel Taught Me About SuperRighteous People
by metatron inin it's own harsh way, bethel taught me some vital lessons about life.
work hard,.
play hard, drink hard and don't trust the goons in charge.. one of the scenarios that would replay itself over and over again concerned a subclass.

It pisses me off that they make a big deal at the beginning of the talk about how christendom teaches lies about Christ, but then the talk is about all the same things that a nominal Christian would already know about him, except the trinity thing.
Very good observation. In fact, something caught my attention in that introduction:
Most religious artwork depicts Jesus as frail, halo-encircled, effeminate, and melancholy (g98 12/8 5-6)
Why do they have a hang-up with the halo? You can even understand the others (frail, effeminate, etc), but the mention of the halo sounds dissonant in that list.

Yeah, there's actually a WT prophecy that has actually "come to pass", the "rising" of the UN.
w89 4/15 p. 14 The Infamous Harlot?Her Destruction ******
John here sees in vision a combination of such rulerships?"a scarlet-colored wild beast." This is the man-made League of Nations that appeared on the world scene in 1920 but plunged into an abyss of inactivity when World War II erupted in 1939. What, though, is "the mystery of the woman and of the wild beast"?
12
By divine providence, Jehovah?s Witnesses received enlightenment on that mystery in 1942. World War II was then raging at its height, and many thought it would escalate into Armageddon. But Jehovah had a different thought! There was still much work for his Witnesses to do! At their New World Theocratic Assembly of September 18-20, 1942, with the key city Cleveland, Ohio, tied in with 51 other locations in the United States, Nathan H. Knorr, president of the Watch Tower Society, gave the public talk, "Peace? Can It Last?" Therein he reviewed Revelation 17:8, which says of the "scarlet-colored wild beast" that it "was, but is not, and yet is about to ascend out of the abyss, and it is to go off into destruction." He showed how the League of Nations "was" from 1920 to 1939. Then the "is not" stage was reached because of the League?s demise. But after World War II, this combine of nations would ascend out of the abyss. Was that Bible-based forecast fulfilled? Truly it was! In 1945 the international "wild beast" emerged from its abyss of inactivity as the United Nations.
kc chap. 17 p. 166 The King Fights at Armageddon ******
10
What composite "beast" has appeared in these "last days," and what has been its performance on the world stage? At an international convention of Jehovah?s Witnesses in 1942, the public talk entitled "Peace? Can It Last?" called attention to the prophecy at Revelation 17:7, 8. The speaker, Watch Tower president N. H. Knorr, identified "the wild beast that . . . was" as the League of Nations?brought forth in 1920. But now, in that wartime year of 1942, he stated: "The League is in effect in a state of suspended animation, and needs to be revived if it is ever to live again. It has gone into the abyss of inaction and ineffectiveness. It ?is not.?" President Knorr went on to show that "the wild beast that . . . was, but is not, . . . is about to ascend out of the abyss, and it is to go off into destruction." True to the Bible prophecy, that "beast" was revived in 1945 as the United Nations.Big deal. Foreseeing the UN's appeareance was not a hard prediction to make back in 1942.

IP_SEC,
Cool! Thank you very much, I like when you come up with inside information. I can see there's nothing new on DubLand. The WT doesn't have a shred of creativity, they don't even innovate the way they articulate sentences. The same catchwords and phrases, the same callous and formal distance from the person who supposedly is their Lord. They don't even call him "Lord" anywhere in the outline!! And "Lord" is Jesus' most common designation in the NT!!
The Holy Scriptures paint an accurate pictue of Jesus and reveal that ?he was full of undeserved kindness and truth? (Joh 1:14)
They verify that Jesus was resurrected from the dead and that he has become the ?Chief Agent of life? (Ac 3:15; 1 Cor 15:3-8)
He is the ?one mediator between God and men? (1 Ti 2:5)Jesus has not changed but remains full of mercy and undeserved kindness (Heb 4:14-16)
He invites people of all national origins and ethnic groups to follow him and benefit from his teachings (Mt 11:28-30; 28:19, 20)I see they're still playing their games. Why don't they say that, according to their own official doctrine, he is the mediator of the 144,000 only??

One of their prophecies is being fulfilled!
Paradise Restored to Mankind By Theocracy 1972, Pages 353 & 354 ******
Jehovah, the God of the true prophets, will put all false prophets to shame either by not fulfilling the false prediction of such self-assuming prophets or by having His own prophecies fulfilled in a way opposite to that predicted by the false prophets. False prophets will try to hide their reason for feeling shame by denying who they really are.
