  On the fading of 1914 ............

  forgetful as i am, i just forgot the title of the new brochure issued at this summer's conventions, but it is something like "keep on the watch", and it deals with the imminent return of christ, the signs of our times, and the need for being on the watch, being prepared for the "any day now" return.. the signs of our times are mentioned, but not earthquakes, so they are "out" again, it seems.

  but, the first pages make out the basis for the belief in our days being the last ones, the final ones, and 607 is mentioned, 539 and 537 - but not 1914, not the "seven times" or "2520 years".. do you remember 1995, when the "generation change" came?

  in summer, the "knowledge" book was issued, and it also dealt with the signs etc., but for the first time, there was no mention of the then "present truth" that some alive in 1914 would still be alive and witness the return.

  when was the last time these 2 dates were mentioned and correlated together?

  You've probably forgotten, but there was a study article this year that did exactly that: it correlated 607 and 1914.

  I guess this is some evidence that some WT writers want to emphasize 1914 knowing that lack of mention to it will increase doubt in inquiring R&F minds. At the same time, others would like to diminish its as much as possible, as evident in the growing scarcity of references to the date in recent years.

  This generation has by no means passed away.

  just seen on the british news a commemoration of the soldiers who fought in wwi.. the generation has by no means passed away.

  there are 23 old british soldiers remaining, although sadly only 4 were able to attend the commemoration at the cenotaph.

  the youngest is still only 104.. so there is hope yet that the prophecy may still be fullfilled.. has to be quick though boys !!.

  WTS doctrine is so fuzzy they can't even manage it. Even to this date, they still have "Old Light" in watchtower.org with respect to the generation of 1914. The "old light" can be found in the following brochures:

  "Look! I Am Making All Things New":

  "This generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur." Some, at least, of the generation that saw the "beginning of pangs of distress" in 1914 will live to see Paradise restored on earth. (Matthew 24:3-8, 34)

  What Is the Purpose of Life? How Can You Find It?:

  Jesus said regarding the era that would experience the "beginning of pangs of distress" from 1914 onward: "This generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur." (Matthew 24:8, 34-36) Thus, all the features of the last days must take place within the lifetime of one generation, the generation of 1914. So some people who were alive in 1914 will still be alive when this system comes to its end. That generation of people is now very advanced in years, indicating that there is not much time left before God brings this present system of things to an end.

  This is totally ridiculous. They themselves don't have any esteem for their own doctrine. They simply don't care enough to make changes to the site. No wonder they put the New World Translation online only after seven years of the official site's inception on the Web.

  You really sum up what this forum is about: 1) sharing experiences, 2) exposing truth, and 3) having fun.

  Yeah, there should be of course room for fluff and fun , but exposing truth (and lies ) as well as supporting one another (and lurkers) are an integral part of our interactions here.

  I would also add up one more point:

  4) To awaken the researcher inside all of us... (that's what your posts do! Please keep on being a research addict; I bet people are loving your posts!)

  Just let me know when you plan to go into any office lobbies with Trinity, and I'll be sure to steer clear out of the way.... ;)

  No problem, I only do this kind of stuff when I'm doing my job inside the Matrix.

  SCHOLAR: The chicken is not reliabel because she has no academic qualifications and is simply rehashing the behaviour of earlier chickens on raod-crossing. Further, the Chicken Hipotesys has not been peeer reviewed in a scholarly journels and thus is deemed a simply piece of propeganda. Thus far her so-called crossing off an road hasnot been referencd by scholars working in the alivestock field beccause there is not agreement concerning teh dates for the later period of animmal imigration history. In adittion there is pernitent artcles on this subject in NIDCPRNTT, Vol.105 p.3254 and TQXLMKZTT, p. 1839. You will clearly see inthe appented bibliogrphies articlez in the academic field who deal with this subject
