The UN scandal popped up right here on JWD. Kent and MacHislopp were the first. And I think that someone else, perhaps an insider, first wrote to Kent about the WT partnership with the UN and showed him the link to the UN site. Then MacHislopp (BTW, where is he?) published the information on this board and the rest was history.
I'm still puzzled how it took 10 years for we exJW's to find out. Ciro Aulicino, for example, is a Bethelite who couldn't keep his mouth shut about his "privilege" of going to the UN on a weekly basis.

Taking the emblems
by Samuel Thorsen inas the number of the 144000 was sealed in 1935 it is funny how the satistics of the bread eaters/wine drinkers for memorial day goes up and down.
i wonder how many of todays parttakers who started before 1935.. are any of you bad and evil apostates taking from the emblems on memorial day just to make a mess of their statistics?
or do you consider doing it on the upcoming memorial day?

What I find amazing is that so many professed "holy ones" have been arrested recently for various crimes ranging from petty theft up to murder.
Could you post some info on that?

Why do women scream, but men grunt?
by onacruse inhave you ever watched a movie where, when the monster jumps out, the woman grunts and the man screams?.
have you ever walked a forest trail where, when you accidently step on a big old slug, the woman says "cool!
" and the guy goes "icky-poo!!".

IP_SEC,
I might add to this the memorial performed at KHes across the world on March 24 this year is a form of black Sabbath, a parody of the last supper in which the host is rejected by practically every Dub.
Could you add more?

Hypnosis and JWs
by ezekiel3 inthe ministry school features the #4 talk "why hypnotism is not for christians".
first we learn the jw definition of hypnotism:
*** g03 7/8 p. 26 is hypnotism for christians?

Some say that the JW religion itself uses hypnotic techniques. Here's a huge article on that:
A Study of the Persuasion Techniques Used by Jehovah?s Witnesses and the Watchtower
The part specifically about hypnosis is down the page:

JW in Germany have to change their byelaws on data keeping
by GermanXJW inwhen i sent my da-letter i demanded that my data have to be deleted.
i got a reply that the "religious community of jw in germany" (like the ccjw this is different from the watchtower) keeps data on me like other churches, too.
well, in germany we have a governmental data protection office in each land.

Philip Brumley,
Excellent suggestion for future baptismal New Light!
On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do his will?
Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah?s Witnesses in association with God?s spirit-directed organization with no rights reserved?

WTS Official Spin on monthly Awake: 'More emphasis on the Bible!'
by Neo inthe march 2005 kingdom ministry brings up a full article about the awake only being published once a month, starting january 2006. .
but the fun thing is the roundabout way this change is announced.
knowing that the news would be a bitter pill to swallow (there should be a 'speeding up' of the preaching work, not a downsizing), the watchtower only announces the move to monthly publishing by the end of the article.

For an extensive discussion on this topic, check WTS Official Spin on monthly Awake: 'More emphasis on the Bible!'
If you're having problems with the above PDF file or don't want to download it, you can read a scan of page 1 at: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/84383/1405082/post.ashx#1405082
They take a whole page to say what they could have said in about 2 sentences.
That's called damage control.
