Some didn't catch that was an ironic tongue-in-cheek comment. In fact, I was one of the very first to applaud Kerry Louderback-Wood for her Journal of Church and Estate article. (Journal of Church and State: WT NO-BLOOD EXPOSE' ) The above post just illustrates how the JW mind works: they find a little, irrelevant excuse to reject the whole thrust of the argument.
My words unwittingly sparked one of the greatest sum-ups I've ever seen of the blood fraud - thank you very much for your post, hawkaw. Sorry for the misunderstanding. And, thank you once again for one great article, L-W! Your points are the ones I always raise when I discuss the blood issue. They are the weakest and most ridiculous elements of this horrendous doctrine.

Table of who???
by Core88 inhi everyone here is something i think is wrongly translated in the nw bible, and it bothers me.
you cannot be drinking the cup of jehovah and the cup of demons; you cannot be partaking of the table of jehovah and the table of demons.1 cor.

Right on! The context could not be more obvious. Of course Paul is talking of the Lord's evening meal when he refers to "the cup of the Lord" and "the Lord's table."
Luke 22:30 is recorded as being uttered in the night of the institution of the Eucharist. It reads: "that ye may eat and drink at my table (trapezes mou) in my kingdom; and ye shall sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel." This is the eschatological "table of the Lord" (trapezes kuriou, 1Co 10:21), antecipated in the communion meal discussed in 1 Corinthians 10 and 11.
One thing leads to another: if Kyrios in verse 21 refers to Jesus, to whom does the subsequent "Lord" in verse 22 refer?
1Co 10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
1Co 10:22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?This last verse is an unambiguous allusion to Deuteronomy 32:16,21 LXX, where the same verb (provoke to jealousy, parazeloumen) is used and applied to Yahweh:
Deu 32:16 They moved him to jealousy with strange gods; With abominations provoked they him to anger.
Deu 32:21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; They have provoked me to anger with their vanities.1 Corinthians 10 is pretty much linked to Deuteronomy 32:
Deu 32:17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.
1Co 10:20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.Deu 32:37 And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,
Deu 32:38 Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.
1Co 10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.Deu 32:18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.
1Co 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.Ironically, the "provoking to jealousy" verse in Deu 32 is also quoted in Rom 10. That chapter just happens to be the well-known passage where the NWT interpolates "Jehovah" where "Lord" should be read. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Rom 10:13,19).

"Let Your Name Be Sanctified"----PDF!
by Atlantis in"let your name be sanctified" (1961) http://www.watchman.org/profile/jwpro.htm (scroll down) god the holy spirit: similar to many other cults, jehovah's witnesses deny the deity of the holy spirit.
they have written, "but the holy spirit has no personal name.
the reason for this is that the holy spirit is not an intelligent person.

This diagram was drawn by Witnesses. The second line has a numbering of 16 "visions" in accordance with the way the Revelation Climax book divides it. Also, under chapter 4 (vision 2), we read "Jehovah's throne", as only a JW would say, since no one else besides the Witnesses would give such an epithet to a NT passage. It was not done by the Society, it was an individual effort, certainly because they are studying the Revelation Climax book.
What I find interesting is the fact that the creativity of WT members can only go that far. Initiative is very rare among JWs - they don't have much time for that, and when they do, they are repressed, censored or "counseled" for showing something different or original. Talk about a totalitarian organization!

THE WAGES SIN PAYS
by Dansk inthe bible tells us that the wages sin pays is death.
therefore, when we die our debt is paid.. however, in the bible there are a number of cases where people got resurrected.
as their debt was paid, this means they couldn't die again.. ah, but some might say that these ones merely went on to live the average length of time and then died again.

Why Matthew 24 can NEVER be fulfilled.....
by kid-A inlets see.
by watchtower theology, millions if not billions of dead people will be resurrected in jehoobie's funland...... assuming 6 million dubs survive the fiery wrath of lord jehoobie, they will represent a tiny minority in the new world order!.
according to the borg, all of these newly risen dead will require a "witness", meaning, the kingdom ministry will by necessity be in full swing,.

The following was published in 1988, when JWs numbered 3,000,000:
*** it-2 p. 793 Resurrection ***
How would it be possible in 1,000 years to resurrect and educate the billions now in the grave?
Nevertheless, an illustration reveals what a simple, practical thing Jehovah has in mind for mankind. Not to prophesy, but merely for the purpose of illustration, let us assume that those who compose the “great crowd” of righteous persons who “come out of the great tribulation” on this system of things alive (Re 7:9, 14) number 3,000,000 (about 1/1666 of earth’s present population). Then if, after allowing, say, 100 years spent in their training and in ‘subduing’ a portion of the earth (Ge 1:28), God purposes to bring back three percent of this number, this would mean that each newly arrived person would be looked after by 33 trained ones. Since a yearly increase of three percent, compounded, doubles the number about every 24 years, the entire 20 billion (20,000,000,000) could be resurrected before 300 years of Christ’s Thousand Year Reign had elapsed, giving ample time for training and judging the resurrected ones without disrupting harmony and order on earth. Thus God, with his almighty power and wisdom, is able to bring his purpose to a glorious conclusion fully within the framework of the laws and arrangements he has made for mankind from the beginning, with the added undeserved kindness of the resurrection.—Ro 11:33-36.
If someone says Witnesses don't believe that everyone except JWs will be killed at Armageddon, show them the above quote. I've always seen it as a clincher as to how the WT feels it's all normal to do math with such an estimate number of Armageddon survivers.

A child's innocent questions about shunning
by Fleur ini wrote this about three years ago, i came across it today in some files and thought it was worth reposting for newbies.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
one night last week, my five year old daughter couldn't fall asleep.
we could hear her upstairs as she tossed and turned a bit, then finally reappeared from her bedroom and crept down the stairs.
