Thanks Lone Ranger. At my local grocery store they have stand with literature available for free. I've looked through it and it seemed pretty mainstream. There seems to be an emphasis on "clean living", with articles about living healthily. There also a local radio station which they operate, with programming centering on health issues as well as scripture. They seem to believe in a six day creation because they keep rebroadcasting lectures by this guy who argues for it by pointing out what he claims are scientific inaccuracies - I find that in particular to be wacky.

Question about monthly hours, timesheets, etc.
by Alleymom incan anyone think offhand if there has been a thread about keeping hours, the timesheet, etc?
a friend has some questions, and since i was never a jw myself i am a little hazy on the actual procedure.
i figured this has probably been discussed many times before, so if anyone has a link to a previous thread, i would appreciate it.. does anyone have a scan of a timesheet?

Just today I was talking to five young women who were passing out "invitations" to the upcoming DC (I only talked to them because the youngest one recognized me from the elementary school she attends). I asked about going door-to-door and was told it was totally "voluntary", and one, the leader, even joked about stopping at the local rest home, which was having a party on their front lawn, and party with them. They seemed to be trying hard to give me the impression that they really wanted to do the d2d work. My impression from being on JWD is that the d2d work is central to the tenets of their beliefs and is not voluntary. So, did they blatantly lie to me?

I'd be interested in knowing more about how you found inner peace. -

What is seen in the mirror will inevitably change, for that is the nature of this world we find ourselves in. But more importantly, notice what is noticing the changes. Has that ever changed? Will it? Can't you sense something deeper, something beyond the physical that is more real, more vital than the physical body or the mind?
What I really am is no different now than when I was 21 or 2 or 1 day old, and now I find myself at 55. Yet I know/feel/sense directly that "I" have never ever changed at all and "I" never will. My hair has fallen out and I've put on a few pounds, but "I" am the same as always.
