IPOD help!!
by hamsterbait ini have been putting all my cds onto my new ipod.. i am only half way through this, and my hard disk is almost full, as itunes keeps the audio files on the computer.. every time i plug in my ipod, any tracks i have removed from my hard drive to make room for new music is deleted from the ipod.. i want to keep all the music on the ipod, and get rid of all the cds stored on my hard disk without them being removed form the ipod.. the instructions are so rudimentary i dont know what to do.
i am not prepared to buy yet another computer because of this.. help appreciated.. hb.

I had some fun today.
by Defianttruth ini took the kids to a park at the center of our town today.
i say some inappropriately dressed people, and decided to investigate.
i keep a close eye on people at the play ground who don't fit in.

Don't worry, she'll be further convinced that she has the truth because she was being "persecuted".

What happens when you argue with JW's?
by Terry ini can't claim 100% recall, certainly.
jw: "they are imperfect.
jw: "i don't know of any other place to go that has something better.".

Do we need to know? Are we trapped in the thought?
by cyberjesus inwhen i learned ttatt i fell in deep depression.
after i came out of the depression i started to look for the right religion.. i wanted desperately to find the "truth" .
i was confused since many top xjw went different paths.

cyberjesus, it's my feeling you are now closer to truth than ever. Yes, at the end we find out we really know nothing; believe it or not, that's a good place to be because it leaves you open to seeing and experiencing life without a filter of ideas to distort that seeing; it leaves you in a state of innocence. The problem with religion is that it convinces people they are the repository of truth and followers must regulate their life and thought processes according to the dictates of that religion. But really religion boils down to a bunch of BELIEFS/thoughts/ideas, beliefs which get debated back and forth as though truth resides within them. Perhaps whatever "truth" is has nothing whatsoever to do with beliefs/ideas. Laying aside all beliefs and ideas about "truth" is, in my opinion, a good first step in seeing life with clarity, in seeing life as it actually is in this very moment. Being fully present to this moment AS IT IS removes the mind from the picture. That's a good thing because mind is the battlefield of competing beliefs/ideas, not only among people but within ourselves. Without the mind we remove the bars of the prison within which we have become trapped..

A fun ridiculous JW story
by ilikecheese inso i work with a jw.
around christmastime, everyone was leaving little presents for everyone else.
at least, they were doing that for the people they liked and ignoring the quiet ones; all offices are just like high school!

What a douche bag. Did this person expect everyone to know about all of the restrictive practices of their religion? More likely it just shows that despite all of their efforts most people know next to nothing about them.

Amway
by enigma1863 ini was curious, how many jws end up getting caught up in pyramid scemes like amway.
i was caught up in there online program quixstar for a little while several years ago.
i noticed there are several similarities between amway and a cult..

My brother, God rest his soul, got sucked into Amway by one of his brothers-in-law. He spent a lot of money going to rallies and national conventions/meetings on the east coast somewhere (Charlotte, North Caronina I think). Not only did it keep him on the hampster wheel of pushing the product and expanding his "business" he was influenced by them into becoming a born-again Christian by the group he was affiliated with. He never made a cent after several years in it. Thankfully, he eventually woke up to the scheme and dropped Amway along with the religion. His relationship with that BIL was never quite the same.

Seeking, Searching
by Satanus inare you a seeker?
i know that i was, after l left the wt.
i used to get recurring dreams of me flying around obstacles, looking and searching for something, i think it was home, or a place to belong or an ultimate truth.

Very astute observation, Satanus. People search and search and search never realizing that what they are searching for they already have.
