I HAD MY BICYCLE STOLEN!
by Terry inthree months ago i had to stop driving my car.
it wouldn't pass inspection and it would cost about $3k to get it up to par.. well, it's a 98 honda accord with about 179 thousand miles on it, what did i expect?.
.. i decided i would switch to riding a bicycle instead.. it has worked out fairly well.. i put about 10 miles a day on it.

Several years ago someone stole my hybrid, but it was recovered a couple of days later. It's a sickening feeling. I know someone who had her $3000 bike stolen right out of her garage. She checked Craigslist and a couple of hours later found it for sale. Not wanting to alert the police since he knew where she lived she ended up paying $300 to buy it back.

how does this sound for JW delusional hypocrisy? ??
by Lied2NoMore inan aging family member the other day related this gleefully who btw claims to have his prayers answered for the most mundane things...like a ride to the recent regional convention just because he asked almighty jah for it...anywhoo.... he related that a national satellite provider wanted to charge him an early termination fee for cancelling his service..... ..well he gets on the phone and tells them he is an "old coot" who is homeless and going into an old folks home...so what do they do?.
write off the fee for.the "old coot" jw who has no trouble lying thru his teeth just to get out of a fee he agreed to pay because no doubt he knows jah would be pissed if he didnt let his yes mean yes and his no..no.... real story?
he just sold his home and is sitting on the proceeds from the sale...... so many jws actions i have seen thru the years scream they have no belief in god....well the angry delusional wt god they claim to give their devotion to.....

An "old homeless coot" has a satellite dish for his TV? Something about that just doesn't make sense.

I'm a little worried about my cleats, GLTireBiter, since they are SPD-SLs but I've ordered a pair of Shimano cleat covers so walking in them should be better and protect the cleats from wearing out too fast.

When I bought my road bike in 2011 I just swapped out my pedals and shoes from my hybrid, which were mtn bike shoes and a rather large medal pedal. After several seasons with them I'm wanting lighter, stiffer shoes and pedals, hence the upgrade. This should increase my riding efficiency and comfort, and so I'll be putting on more miles. Fortunately for me, drivers are very courteous in the rural area of Wisconsin where I do most of my riding. By no means am I speed demon on my bike, but even a few grams off my current setup will help add some speed and miles to my riding. My longest one day ride has been 125 miles, and I am convinced I can shatter that given the right conditions. Terry, until 4 years ago I was very happy riding like you, but once I got on a road bike a whole new biking experience unfolded for me. And yes, it is very easy getting wrapped up in buying all sorts of clothing and accessories. Somewhere down the line I'm looking to get a helmut mounted digital camera so I can relive some of my rides.

Anyone have experience with Specialized road shoes with the Boa stem? How about pedals - I'm getting Shimano 105 pedals. I'd enjoy any input you have - thanks.

Many of the responses on the site are verbatim quotes from Watchtower literature. It's as if they just cut and paste straight out of an article
sd-7, I noticed the same thing. Earlier today I happened to notice someone's response to a question about meditation that sounded so "scripted" that it reeked of WT drivel. So I looked at more of this person's posts. EACH ONE was obviously a cut and paste from WT sources, most times only tangentially related to the question being asked. There was not one post that read like a regular person would answer from their own experience and their own thinking.
