I've learned that the only thing truly worth knowing is what I really am.
I've learned that "not knowing" anything enables me to enjoy everything.
How's that for embracing contratictory concepts?

I've learned that . . .
by Steve Lowry insomeone gave me a little book many years ago that was nothing but one-line sentences, starting with the words, "i've learned that .
" and followed by the age of the author.
some of these little sentences were hilarious such as; " i've learned that if i turn my ice cream cone upside down, i don't have an ice cream cone anymore.

Has God Just Set Us Up For Failure?
by confused_101 inthe fact that in the very beginning god created man and then woman and placed them in the garden of eden, then he told them that they could partake of all the fruits from the trees but that they shouldnt touch his tree.
the tree of knowledgethat is like putting cookies in front of a kid and telling them that they cant eat them.
then he allowed satan to speak to eve (through the serpent) and convince her to eat and then she would know all that was good and bad.

JT, what a treat it is to view the photos you post - absolutely incredible stuff to look at. I marvel at the way you can select the perfect piece to illustrate your points.

Using God's name in vain
by These3Words ini"ve always wondered why jw's use god's first name, "jehovah" if that's what his first name really is, and is spelled correctly?
people usually don't call their father's by their first name.isn't that disrespectful?
shouldn't we call him "heavenly father?that way it applies to whatever higher power you believe in?.

"The halls are not Churches skyman." Which begs the question for this "never been a dub," - why aren't they called churches?

"I have watched it and it’s a masterpiece of propaganda"
The first thing I thought of when I read this line was the movie, Triumph of Will, the late 1930's propaganda masterpiece about Hitler and nazism. -

"It's about simply realizing that the foundational reality and actuality is not the movement, but rather the vast pristine pool of consciousness which it all dances within. See, there I go again, with the "within" stuff."
This is why you would make a good zen master, JT - zen is full of paradox. Your efforts to explain paradox are as clear as any I've come across. Now all you need is a good stout stick for rapping people in the head. Perhaps you'd like to start with your mother.

Only the ego fears death. When one discovers that the ego isn't "me" then all fear dissolves, including fear of death. When one discovers what one really is, then there is the realization that there is no such thing as "personal death", only life.
"I" never existed to begin with, only an idea of "me" had seemed to exist, kept "alive" in the mind. But when the reality of this "me" was investigated directly, it couldn' t be found. All "individuals" are mental creations only; what those creations arise within always is - and that's what you really are.

"God must have a peronality too."
This is clearly an assumption. By making this statement a fact you are automatically limiting what "god" can be. What if this assumption has no basis in fact, that "god" is beyond all limited thinking, beyond all personifications that humans make of him? What is one left with then? Could anything whatsoever be said which would be really meaningful?
