You shouldn't limit your application to only religion, poppers. It can apply to any movement whether it be religious, political, educational, etc.
I agree absolutely with you. ANY belief is an obstruction to reality. For most people their religion is what's most closely identified with, but identification can be attached to anything, as you pointed out. If you want freedom then discover exactly what is doing the identification. That is an inward journey that only you can do.
can anyone think offhand if there has been a thread about keeping hours, the timesheet, etc?
a friend has some questions, and since i was never a jw myself i am a little hazy on the actual procedure.
i figured this has probably been discussed many times before, so if anyone has a link to a previous thread, i would appreciate it.. does anyone have a scan of a timesheet?

1. Religion gives people a sense of purpose. - Isn't it curious that people feel the need to look outside themselves to find "purpose".
2. Religion gives people a hope. - "Hope" is about the future, and while looking to the future people miss what's really here now, the only time that exists.
3. Religion gives people organization and guidelines. - Isn't it curious that people feel the need to have an organization that provides guidelines.
Your assessment on what religion gives is right on, and that's why religions fail to actually lead people to discovering truth and why people are hypnotized by beliefs, blinding them to the truth that exists right now within oneself.

perhaps so, but the timeline of the story and age of the individual weren't clear to me as i read it.
If this were actually true you'd think the higher-ups would be sure to make known to everyone exactly who this was so that it could be verified.

Robdar, you are on the right track. Look within. Beliefs only hide truth. Doesn't matter what the belief is it will at best hide it or distort it out of all recognition.

You actually believe that ONLY someone who is a JW can know what the bible is truly about? Why do you make this assertion? Sounds pretty arrogant to me. What do you base this on, the JW's party line, or is it because of some other comprehensive research done by you which examined everyone else's knowledge of the bible?

the thing is, i'm so tired of grieving.
it seems like i've grieved for so long.
Robdar is right on the money with her advice. The shortest quickest way to end grief is to go right into it fully. The physical sensations of it are due to the retention of the "story" behind the grief in an energetic form. Feel the sensations fully without the accompanying story. Whenever the story of it arises put attention more fully on the sensations in the body.
many on here say they are being shunned by their family members.in some case this is probably true.
but seriously..could it be that they have a life and they may not have time for you anyway?

Catholics used to excommunicate..I don't think they do any more
In all the time I was a practicing Catholic (40 plus years) I did not know of anyone who was excommunicated. If you ask the average JW if they know anyone who has been disfellowshipped I bet it would be a pretty high percentage.
