Damn, the things most don't notice while in. I'll save this in my folder of links to great points that destroy the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses just in case I need them. Stuff like this is gold to those that move on and don't really care about the bible anymore because I wouldn't do the research to compose something like this anymore. Nice work!

Jehovah's Witnesses View of Jesus Compared to the Early Church
by cofty inthe following is an extract from something i wrote 16 years ago soon after leaving the watchtower.
i am posting it because it may help honest jws consider how far their beliefs are at odds with new testament christians.
if they have "the truth" then their attitude to jesus ought to reflect that of the apostles.

DOC - IMO, your opinion stinks (*like assholes) -- or rather, the pejorative way you refer of those who choose not to DA or who don't share your thoughts about DA -- stinks.
Oh, you mean like the way people here portray those that disassociate as weak and giving into the the Borg? I normally just encourage people in situations like this to do what they want and tell them to ignore the haters, but this time I decided to come back with the contempt shown for those that do disassociate or want to. It stings, no? That's how I felt when I wanted to disassociate, and decision I made, and I struggled to get any support from my ex-dub friends. It sucks to want to do what you want to do and have everyone tell you not to when all you're doing is looking for support. The OP didn't ask for opinions on her decision, just how to write the letter.
I did refer to DA as "playing by their game" because it is outlined in the JW Elders' Book of Rules.
Why does that matter? It is a way out permanently. It effectively ends the game. It isn't something they want. They want to continue to "encourage" you. Families will want to keep doing the same. Jehovah's Witnesses can't stand it when they have to stop being able to put in their not so subtle jabs and can't talk to you anymore. Talking to others, "witnessing" is the name of their game. DA'ing puts a bullet in it and there is no more game playing. Why do you give them so much power as to worry about them using the word disassociation? Take that word and make it work for you, if you want. If you don't, that's fine too, but I certainly wouldn't want to give them so much power that they keep me from being able to end the game completely just because they took ownership of a word. And, as many here know and/or have had it happen personally, when the Eldubs come calling on you (esp if they suspect apostasy) you will most definitely be asked if you still believe "the GB/F&DS are God's representatives today"? Because if you deny the GB, you have DA yourself from the bOrg.
So you prove my point. By not disassociating and ending contact, you're subject to them calling on you, whenever they so choose, therefore you're still playing their game. There are those here who have posted that they later regretted their decision to DA.
A fair point, just as there are people that have regretted their decision to fade. Again there is fear that prevents people from taking such a permanent stand. If that's not for you, great. If a person is brave enough to do it, celebrate with them instead of discouraging them. They've probably been through hell just to make that decision and don't need you adding to it.
Like I said, I don't go on threads where people want to fade and tell them to disassociate or else they will have to continue playing the JW game. I don't get why people feel it is their place to interject on threads where people want to disassociate and to try to shame them into not doing so because they're playing their game, which comes off just as pejorative. THAT is why I said what I said. I'm sick of the way people are treated for wanting to disassociate, as if they're somehow doing it wrong by finally making probably one of the first and most important decisions for themselves apart from the cult. I've seen the looks from ex-dubs that have found out that we disassociated at times, like we're weak for taking that step or must have been sad and pathetic and needed it. Fuck that. We should celebrate people that get out no matter how they do it. I said what I said here to illustrate the way people like you and others make people feel that disassociate. Instead we should be cheerleaders for others.
So, from now on when I see the tired and played out "don't play by their rules" I'm going to post the above because it takes balls to disassociate and if people are going to characterize one that decides to disassociate a certain way we might as well do the same for those that choose not to, right. Or we could just be supportive of what another chooses to do on the way out. Nah, let's decide why it must be that people disassociate and point them out as doing something weak and try to discourage them from doing it. -

It's easy. Just send it to your congregation and tell them you wish to disassociate. BE SURE TO SIGN YOUR LETTER.
Don't listen to those who discourage disassociation. They don't have the balls to take a stand and often continue playing games with the JWs trying not to get caught doing things, looking over their shoulders, and telling others not to disassociate because they can't bring themselves to. They allow the Borg to continue having power over them. Imagine what it would be like if more disassociated and the congregations had to face the facts instead of thinking there might still be brother or sister so and so out there.
Sound harsh? I'm tired of the lame "don't play their game" discouragement of those bold enough to take a stand. If someone doesn't want to, that's fine, and I won't discourage someone from fading. I don't get the discouragement to DA given to those that want it. It's hard enough to take such a bold stand without people that don't have the guts discouraging them. It's like an abuse victim being discouraged from confronting their abuser or taking a stand. That's messed up.

A question to Non-US forum members.
by Spoletta innow that trump is on his way to making america great again, will you consider moving here where you can get the best healthcare and education that anyone with a lot of money can buy, plus the ability to buy all the guns you need to protect yourself?
and it gets better!
if you are caucasian, you need never worry about discrimination.. am anxious to hear your replies.

Neither to I ascribe to that. You sure seem to have no problem describing the Caucasian experience as only one way. Is that not Watchtowery? Putting people in neatly defined boxes, or god for that matter, is exactly what they do. I'm pretty sure I recently saw you melt down because someone mentioned what one Muslim did as though they were defining all of them a certain way, and yet you have no problems doing the same with us whiteys, amirite?

Yeah, the OP is full of it, and I'm so sick of the white people have it easy because they're white narrative. If you do live in America, feel free to pack your bags and eff off if you don't like it and see how you do somewhere else.

I see your cat in bomber jacket, and raise you a dog in a bomber jacket, with goggles, and dreaming of actually flying a plane. Although I too like cats, right now they just can't compete. Don't try and troll me with cat pics, lol.

Since this troll isn't even any fun, it's DOGS IN HATS TIME! (This is the response to trolls in another forum I'm part of, and it is fun. Everyone likes dogs in hat more than stupid troll fights.) Feel free to post your own.
I like to think this dog is both at a birthday party, and not listening to the ramblings of the OP.

Deluded Brainwashed Cult Victim: What other religious organization on earth has been able accomplish what we have? Yes, to fulfill that command at Matthew 28:19, 20?
You do realize that other religions have grown faster than you, and that often it is other religions that break ground in being the first to take the Bible to new lands, right? Or do you just believe your own hype that has been indoctrinated into you?
As the apostle Paul was inspired to write at Ephesians 4:5, 6 that there is only "One Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” YES! There is only ONE true faith. One true religion. And WE, yes, Jehovah's Witnesses are that one true religion. As Peter said to Jesus, 'where else are we going to go lord?'
Actually, Peter asked "WHOM shall we go away to?". You see, that line you parroted is just more brainwashing to make you feel like you have to stay where you are to follow Jesus. Peter was pointing out that it was Jesus that one should follow, not the magnificent seven in New York.
Yes. What other religion on the face of this earth is truly preaching the good news of the kingdom?
Lots of them. They may just not view the kingdom in the same literal way as you.
What other religion is as completely united as Jehovah's Witnesses?
Pretty much any brainwashed cult.
And if you left the "truth," come back to the truth before it's too late. Time is running out folks.
Haven't you been saying that since the late 1800's?
Soon, very soon the four winds of destruction will be unleashed upon the earth. Jesus and all the holy angels will soon destroy this system of things. The question is,... do you want to be among the few survivors?
Not if I have to live with brainwashed morons that cannot exercise free will because their cult has taken their ability to think and act autonomously away from them. I'd rather die than live with the toxic people in your religion. After all, would you want to drink from a cup with even a little poison in it (a favorite JW illustration).
Go to our site now and find the truth for yourself. And as I said earlier, if you have left us for whatever reason, return to us while there is still time to do so folks.
Let he that is standing beware that he does not fall. The arrogance of Jehovah's Witnesses knows no bounds.
If you're truly honest-hearted you won't mind discussing what you believe, right. I mean, we can ask you questions and you'd be happy to answer them for us, wouldn't you? If you have the ability to think for yourself and don't need to rely on your website to do the talking for you, you should be "ready to make a defense before one that asks it of you", right? I have some questions for you, and I'd love to hear your answers. You should be able to wield your "sword" well, otherwise you're just promoting a website instead of the actual Bible.
