by dubstepped innew episode twenty five - daniel is a pimo jehovah's witness.
pimo – \pee-moe\ noun – short for physically in, mentally out, a person held captive to the cult of jehovah’s witnesses because although they are awake, to let others know would cost them everything they’ve ever known.

New Episode Twenty Five - Daniel is a PIMO Jehovah's WitnessPIMO – \pee-moe\ noun – short for Physically In, Mentally Out, a person held captive to the cult of Jehovah’s Witnesses because although they are awake, to let others know would cost them everything they’ve ever known. They stay in physically to keep spouses, family, friends, the only social structure that they’ve ever been allowed to have. Sometimes they do this while plotting a “fade” where they gradually walk, sometimes even move, far away so as to escape. They know the truth but they cannot express it in an organization that refers to itself as “The Truth”.Daniel is PIMO. This is his story. Identities have been changed to protect the innocent. You can download and listen on your podcast app of choice (iTunes, Apple Podcast, Google Play, Podcast Republic, Podbean, etc.). Is The Person Who Helped You “Get Into The Truth” Still Around?
by minimus ini helped, unfortunately, many people to become baptized jws.
recently, over the last few years, i saw many of my students who were still “ in the truth “ lament that i was no longer associating or active in the faith.. i do feel bad that i did such a good job that most of them still are in the cult.. are your teachers still around or did they wise up and leave the lord’s organization?
?.

I assume my mom is still out there somewhere. She must be, as I got notification of some estate stuff and some checks from a wrongful death lawsuit (or something like that, when honestly his death was entirely his fault) from my dad's death. She's doing the suing, so she's still out there I guess.

"They are so keen, they need to be locked up for the first 6 months!"
by stuckinarut2 indo we all remember that expression when we were jws?.
someone new would "come into the truth", and be so enthusiastic and keen, that we would all joke about "locking them up for the first 6 months because they would preach to everyone".
jws thought that the passion for "learning the truth" was the issue.

Great point siar2! You see people wake up, get excited, lose all tact, and get shunned real fast. We have to give others time to see things for themselves too.

You joined the site, admitted that you may not be back much, bumped a 7 year old post, and made one post asking for someone to build you a website so that you can find an exjw lady. W-O-W.

There you go. I saw files and read through some but must have overlooked the Watchtower involvement. I see it there. Thanks. I'll pass it on.

I've tried finding similar information. I was once able to find Watchtower linked to Rand Cam but have been unable to recently as I was trying to help someone find it.
I think some of Watchtower ownership is more like stock ownership through donations when people die but I do remember seeing with my own eyes that they literally had ownership positions in some things. I looked just this week to help someone that brought it up on Reddit and couldn't locate it.

Dammit! I want to disassociate again now. I guess I could always send in one that's humorous and sign someone else's name in the congregation just for fun.

May 2019 Watchtower doubles down on the "Two Witness Rule" !
by stuckinarut2 inthis is simply disturbing and infuriating!.
the may 2019 wt has defiantly and arrogantly been released by the gb, and it is full of their disgusting excuses for not complying with authorities!.
(i have seen and read all the articles, but cant work out how to upload a link here - perhaps someone can assist?).

I've always felt that there's nothing wrong with the 2 witness rule itself per se. The problem is that unqualified individuals are handling something that they shouldn't to begin with, and then if there aren't 2 witnesses they don't take it seriously. They should simply recuse themselves from hearing any such accusation and immediately ENCOURAGE (which isn't the same as "we do not discourage") people to take the matter to the proper authorities. This isn't even hard.
Instead, it is all about control with the cult. They need you to need them. They need you to bring everything to them to exert dominance. Then once you do they have standards above what could likely be met and history shows that over and over they actually have discouraged people from going to the proper authorities. The whole thing is a mess.
I do agree that you can't just run with and condemn people based on accusations, but the proper authorities have training on how to handle such matters and know what evidence to gather. Many elders are morons and should never be handling such matters. They certainly should never be handling them in the deplorable manner that many do, asking horrifically sensitive questions as people unqualified to deal with the answers. The whole thing is simply inappropriate. I do agree that a focus on the 2 witness rule itself is probably a focus in the wrong direction. However, it's also erroneous to simplify the 2 witness rule to the base rule itself and to ignore everything that its existence within the cult entails.

Disfellowshipped/disassociated – How did your parents handle it?
by Richard_I into those who were disfellowshipped/disassociated – how did your still-in parents handle it?.
i don’t want to fade, so i am thinking about disassociating soon – i don’t care if i’m playing by the org’s rules, i just want out.. however, i am concerned about how my parents will react.
i don’t want them to become super depressed or whatever due to me leaving the org.. i don’t want them to be hurt by my decision to leave the org, but i feel like there is no way of avoiding this..

It's up to you man. What is most important to you? For some it is taking a stand against the JWs. For others it is family, even if those relationships are toxic. Only you can weight the pros and cons. As to what kind of scrutiny your family ends up under, that's their problem unless you're trying to keep a relationship with them. Some relationships are worth keeping, others aren't. Everyone has to make their choices and live with the consequences. What choice will you make? Do the one that fits you. It's your life, not that of your parents or anyone else. I know one member here disassociated recently and it was good for them. I know that in a group I run a few have done so and felt good about it. Others continue playing the game and fade. It's your life. We can't make the decision for you. We can be happy that you're out, however you choose.

I know that he's listening to it now. It's quite the journey. He's a strong guy that should be proud of just making it through all that he's experienced.
