Of course it's possible. To assert that you know anything about that divine being though is the height of arrogance, as would be insisting on a divine being when you don't know. Possibility is a beautiful thing. Absolute belief without proof is delusion.

@konceptual: It has always been my understanding that what it says in that article is how it was. I don't really see anything new. They usually stayed away from making a direct rule, deferring to local culture, but here in the United States it has been frowned upon based on the feelings about beards from generations ago. Then again, maybe it is an overlapping frown on beards because they just can't make progress and change with the times but always lag behind.

@Landy, you misread it. The disfellowshipping announcement was in the video where the young lady was disfellowshipped.

They were supposed to sell it, along with another one, to build one in or near Cincinnati. Last I heard that deal was off, but they're still selling what they have.

Off On A Trip - But Little Enthusiam
by Joe Grundy innever was a jw, but been here a long time.. off on a trip in a week or so, uk to andorra to stay with a friend for 10 days or so (beautiful place) then a week or so wending through france back home.. did the same trip the last couple of years -it was wonderful.
met some lovely people, including an ex-polce woman over coffees and calvados after dinner.. but ... i don't feel so enthusiastic about this trip.
i'll visit the cathar sites and other places.. maybe- just maybe - i've come to the conclusion that these trips are not as much fun if you don't have a companion to share it with..

I went to that assembly hall. Why not sell it to a church? After all, it was a church before the dubs got it. I thought they bought it from a church. I used to feel so weird in there. It had the balcony and stained glass and felt like a church. Nice building though.

Elders Advice Backfired And Now Im The Happiest I've Ever Been
by pale.emperor injust wanted to update you guys of the amazing couple of weeks i've had in recovering from the cult.. i was attending the meetings still just so i could see my daughter in the kingdom hall and have her sit we me half the time.
i had no intention of ever becoming a jw again but was hoping to be re-instated and just not turn up ever again so i could at least see my family.
but then an elder said something to me that changed all that.

Such a disgusting yet beautiful post P.E. I'm so happy for your happiness, and seriously that elder is a piece of human trash.

Isn't all of this to say, in short, that clearly the Bible is of no importance? I mean, if God cared about it and endorsed it, shouldn't he have seen the confusion it would cause? If it was to be a holy book, revered and lived by thousands of years later, shouldn't he have made sure it made sense? Or does he like playing games with humanity, separating us through riddles and inconsistencies? Stuff like this is just another reason to not care about the Bible, for me. I don't like playing games with things that are important. From the very beginning (creative days aren't literal but talking snakes are) the book loses credibility.

Tips on how to raise money
by Holden Caufield ini need some ideas to raise money for my study research trip for west africa in cape coast ghana..

Alright Holden, how about instead of asking us to do all of the work of coming up with ideas or donations you show some initiative and let us know your ideas. You brainstorm and let us play off of your ideas. You tell us your skills. You tell us what kind of time you have available. So far you've given us nothing to work with.
