  Episode 4 of This JW Life is out now......

  spent all day yesterday writing two episodes and recording and editing one podcast of this jw life.

  so, episode 4 of my podcast is now out.

  i took a minute away from my story (though it is still laced throughout this one) to lay out what goes on inside of a kingdom hall, who the players are, what they believe, and hopefully set a foundation that will help explain my story as one.

  Lol Fishy, although I did mention that the one thing some take away is that speaking ability, let's face it, the TMS doesn't create something out of nothing. There are plenty of great speakers that never set foot in "da troof" and plenty of horrific speakers that have given talks in the Borg for decades. I threw them a bone in my episode, let's not get carried away. They made me what I am, lol.

  Evolution is a Fact #40 - What Use is Half an Eye?

  creationists often refer to the words of darwin when he pondered the evolution of the complex eye.

  he said that to suppose that the complex eye evolve by natural selection seems "absurd in the highest possible degree".

  what they always ignore is that darwin went right on in the very next sentence to propose how the eye could have evolved and that numerous gradations must exist between the simplest light detecting organs and the complex vertebrate eye.. in the 150 years since darwin published his book not only have those gradations been discovered in the natural world but the very genes that build the eye have been discovered by science.

  Thanks for posting this one in particular. Evolution is still something that I know little about, and honestly I don't care to be an expert in, but this was easy to understand and made total sense vs. the creationism I was indoctrinated with. This is a simple, yet powerful refutation of an argument agsinst evolution.

  @jambon - Oh yes, when writing out the beliefs I couldn't help but snicker, and I took some shots here and there. I once took such things so seriously, and I haven't had to explain them in a while, so it just hit me how ridiculous it all was, and saying it aloud was funny to me.

  The next podcast isn't specifically about shunning, but believe me that will be addressed. It was a big part of my waking up. I do address it in the next one, but will hit it even harder later in my story.

  The next episode is about the FOG, fear, obligation, and guilt, and I will lay out how they use it to form their culture. I will also use the BITE model. I want people to understand what really makes them so dangerous.

  She's here and early! 27 weeks 1day.

  so as of july 2nd my wife delivered by c-section our little one pound, three ounce daughter izabella.

  it was a very scary night that started with a decel and turned into multiple decels that greatly concerned the doctors.

  by early morning they felt the need to take her for her safety.

  Congrats to you and the wifey, and although the beginning may be a struggle, congrats to Izabella because she gets to have two parents that love her like crazy and already show their willingness to do whatever they can for her. Thanks for the pic, that's awesome, and best wishes on the developments going forward.

  Spent all day yesterday writing two episodes and recording and editing one podcast of This JW Life. So, episode 4 of my podcast is now out. I took a minute away from my story (though it is still laced throughout this one) to lay out what goes on inside of a Kingdom Hall, who the players are, what they believe, and hopefully set a foundation that will help explain my story as one. Next week I'll go into two cult models and how they apply to Jehovah's Witnesses, as well as any form of abuse, really. Anyway, I hope those that listen enjoy this one and learn something. I think that even ex-JWs will enjoy this one and can use it to help explain to others what we believed. I think you'll enjoy my explanation of things. ;)

  It is nice to say that. Happy 4th ttdtt! My wife bought a pack of sparklers. When she was a kid she saw other kids with them and wanted one so bad. Of course, her JW parents wouldn't allow it. Now she can sparkle all she wants. I think we may go to a local baseball game with a big fireworks show after. Then back to the house for sparklers.

  My parents found out

  so in my last post i talked about how i had told my younger siblings how i didn't plan to get baptized or ever be a witness.

  i thought i could trust them but i guess i was wrong, they're just kids after all.

  my oldest brother (who's 11) told on me today.

  Whew, a tough situation just got tougher. I disagree with the notion that you're learning valuable skills by sticking it out. You already have those. Staying in an abusive situation isn't educational after a point.

  Your aunt sounds like she's been there, done that, and woulf be a great place to go start a new life at some point. I've told you that my wife and I are willing to help too if we can.

  This is tough, but you don't owe your parents or siblings anything. They may all turn their backs on you. Certainly parental love there is largely based on your ability to conform to the cult.

  Get a job, work hard, and pile up cash. Cash gives you options, and you need them. Play the game at home as long as you can stomach it, but don't allow them to hurt you beyond what you can psychologically take. This is YOUR life, not theirs, and clearly you're the only one looking out for your best interests.

  I'm sorry you got outed. Now you'll really see what your parents are made of, real love of you, or the cult. I'm so sorry.
