  I'm in contact with a reporter on the story. He's hoping to hear more about the suicide note tomorrow if possible.

  My guess is that there's a lot more to this story. I bet it runs really deep. Hopefully more comes out.

  Yep, nobody at the KH treated her with humanity as a hurting person. They were more concerned about the meeting going on.

  They also called the police on her. I guess they DO know the number for 911, just not when children are being raped.

  The long suicide note left by the mom should be telling if ever made public. It's all just heartbreaking. Well, not to JWs who have had their humanity stripped by their cult leaders, but for normal people.

  Boyfriend force me to study the bible or no marriage

  my boyfriend, who is a disfellowshipped jehova's witness, asks me to study the bible for 3 months or he won't marry me (i'm a muslim woman).

  he loves me and really wants to marry me but he is doing a passive blackmailing: if i don't study for 3 months, 1 time per week, in my home country, and without him, there will be no marriage... as a muslim, i believe the bible is god's word so i look at the bible from time to time and would be happy to study with him.

  but the fact that he is kind of saying "study the bible or bye bye no marriage" is really hurtful.

  Like I said earlier, you can't make them realize. Only if they have doubts and are ready can they see anything. Steve Hassan (look up his books) says that things like watching a documentary on another cult (like Leah Remini's show on Scientology) can sometimes help people see the similarities between other cults and their own and shake them a bit. Still, many in here have family that watch it and don't see similarities.

  If a person is blind they cannot see and you cannot make them see. He doesn't get to force you to be a JW and you don't get to force him not to be a JW. It's up to him, not you.

  i've just released the final podcast from david's story which is a bonus episode formed from a discussion that we had in the pre-interview.

  i think that it contained some valuable information and insights through our discussion of not just the response (or lack thereof) to sexual abuse within the cult of jehovah's witnesses, but also about other related matters.. i hope that david's openness about his life has made an impact on others, and invite any that listen to leave him a word of encouragement at http://shunnedpodcast.com/episodes/ under either episode 6, 7, or 8, all relating to his story.

  Now you have some inkling of how we all feel when we are thrown away by our mothers and fathers and siblings and friends and sometimes spouses in the name of Jehovah. Thrown away like common trash as if nothing real was ever there.

  Let's review.... it's a cult!!!

  He is just acting like a victim, that people in this forum are just haters that are not strong enough to be a jw help byb Jehovah.

  He has been brainwashed to think that way. I once thought that way, we all probably did. The cult brainwashed us to see anyone that walked away from the cult as "mentally diseased apostates". Those were their actual words. By labeling us as such they preemptively discredit anything we say without having to think about anything or learn anything new. They can just sit in their comfortable brainwashing without ever making any changes.

  By the way, if he wants to compare credentials within the cult that he was kicked out of by disfellowshipping I'll put mine up against his. Many here were elders, ministerial servants, pioneers, etc. And if Jehovah couldn't help us be faithful servants, then how weak must Jehovah be? His arguments are weak and his controlling nature is strong.
  

  Jehovah's Witnesses shun people and then blame them for being shunned. JWs ALWAYS play the victim, they have been taught to. They are the victims of this evil world as they see it. Any questioning of them is seen as "persecution", yet they try to push people to question their beliefs so as to become JWs. Their organization is toxic and very sick and you should stay far away or they can make you toxic and sick too. You're seeing some of the symptoms in dealing with this man.

  You are right, it is very sad. I'm truly sorry for your loss, and I know it hurts, but it is for the best. You are dodging a bullet here.
