Is religion dangerous and do we really NEED saving?
by Morocco inim not trying to sound haughty or god-hating, i dont even know if i believe what i wrote but tell me what you guys think about this: how are we, as individuals and a species, to grow into what we want to become unless we are first burned by the fires of lesson?
how can we see our faults unless first we experience them, then, by contrast no longer live by them?
the harsh reality is that in order to overcome ignorance we must be first fooled by it so that we may be intimate with it.

Navigator I too agree to a certain point, now if God is us "HE IS US" and I do something evil, does that mean God does evil? I do believe God is in us because true freedom of choice can only be a gift from God that allow us to go beyond inanimate matter that surrounds us. God's spirite that animates all life so to speak, as children we are with choice which is basically Life or Death. If one goes against the spirit which sustains them, it will depart.

I am not sure I agree with your logic, one doesn't have to fool with evil lets say to know it. For example I don't need to kill someone to then experience what it is to kill someone and effects it will have in the long run. Maybe a drastic example but I already know. Choice is what we have, for good or bad which from different viewpoints maybe opposite as in what is good and what is bad. For example me defending myself from a thief which takes his life in self defense maybe good from my viewpoint but from the thiefs I don't think so. So then if there is a God with divine judgement then good and bad is more defined or should I say strict. Those that listen to the almighty if they make wise decisions would continue to make good choices (not forced). So the question is then does God really let you know what is good and bad so you can decide which path to take? Why do some not listen? How can one listen?
Now what happens when we don't have a choice in a matter? For example someone being tortured beyound their capacity to resist to divulge information which ends up hurting other people, is that person truely guilty?

Genesis 6:2 - The "sons of God"
by rocketman inwhile reading the niv study bible recently, i came across some interesting notes on genesis 6:1-4, concerning the situation before the flood in which the "sons of god saw the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.".
from what i had always understood (mainly by reading wts literature) these "sons of god" were angels that sinned by taking the daughters of men as sex partners.
however, the niv study bible, and some other bible commentators, mention that there were other possibilities:.

I thought the Son Of God died when he took up death as a man, a son of man and was resurrected from the dead back into heaven. As the saying goes, "Let the dead bury the dead".

Lets see here, peace to all.
Jehovah did not kill Adam and Eve. He gave them a choice of Life or Death. Adam and Eve choosed between two trees in the story in the Bible, one tree was the tree of Life, and the other Death both planted in the center of the Garden. Jehovah was up front and told them not to eat from the tree of Death because it would do exactly as he said, lead to death. Satan was also present in the garden (why would that be? What was his purpose?) He convince eve to partake which in turn got Adam to partake, in other words both Adam and Eve sided with Satan, against Jehovah. The garden of eden was Jehovah's makings, the world outside was not, this other world was full of death with its prince as god. The Son of God gave us this choice to live or to die, his Kingdom is not of this World just like then in the Garden of Eden.

Can someone explain to me the story of the tower of Babel?
by tippysock inin genisis 11:6 jehovah appears to be worried that mankind will be able to do anything they desire.
did jehovah scatter men and use different languages as a controlling measure to make us dependent on him?
what happened to freewill?

Why ask questions when I am really quite clear?
To clarify your stand since you indicated you where stoned or was joking at it.
You don't bother to analyse the reasons I outlined that bring me to that conclusion, but just disagree.
I sure did, the Bible also contains the story of Christ who does represent Jah of armies and in no way does he reflect what you assert.
Show me how silly and wrong my assertions are.
Your assumptions about me are actually pretty silly and wrong at best.
Oh, and what does the fact that anyone can do this mean? Could you answer that for me please? What I am getting is is what proof is there that you, or the Pope, or Fred, or anyone is right, if we can all have our own interpretation.
Well if your interpretation agrees with the truth or Christ then that would be the right interpretation I would say. I would no way tell you to believe what I say in this but would ask you to go to the true source.
You are alleging that an entity who makes a Universe of bewildering complexity cannot communicate clearly with human beings. This is illogical.
I am alleging just the opposite, seems like you are demanding to much from only a book.
Classic presuppositionalistic answer. The Bible is true, therefore those who cannot see the truth have something wrong with their heart. How curious that the Bible has taught you to insult and judge people you don't even know; my study of its latter portions indicate this is not how it advises people to act.
How have I insulted you? Your the one that said God is an Asshole in the Bible and I whole heartedly disagree. Then again I did say the Bible has a way of reflecting the heart, your heart.
It seems you've already come to an absolute determination of your own rightness. If this is the case I doubt if there's further worth in conversing with you. I have not really made any claim to knowing rightness; I have however outlined obvious areas of wrongness. Refute them, deal with them or ignore them as you will.
Not at all. Rightness comes from God through Christ is what I have faith in.
I hope you find true peace.

what do you read at Matthew 27:52,53 ?
by evergreen inreading my bible daily ,i am enjoying what i read, especially not having to constantly refer to wt literature all the time .but simply reading what is in black and white in the holy scriptures.. i came across this portion of scripture at matthew 27:52,53 .
and the memorial tombs were opened and many bodies of the holy ones that had fallen asleep were raised up,(and persons, coming out from among the memorial tombs after his being raised up,entered into the holy city,)and they became visible to many people.. two things that come to my mind from this portion of scripture.
1/ dead people are raised ie holy ones.. the society says that these were bodies that became visible that fell out from the tombs because of the earthquake ??.

a master teacher at that. I always thought this was well preserved as a record:
Mt 22:29 . . . . , "You are mistaken, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. Mt 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like God`s angels in heaven. Mt 22:31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven`t you read that which was spoken to you by God, saying, Mt 22:32 `I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?` God is not the God of the dead, but of the living." Through Christ eternal life is obtain. Thanks for the responce AGuest, a slave of Christ.
