  i took this really interesting test on-line at tickle.com.

  at the end it will give you your iq.

  granted i could have done better if i wasn't distracted from watching my son, but i guess i did ok. i may take the test over again just to be sure that i was paying attention properly.

  Looking back to when I was an adolescent, I'd have to answer the original question in the affirmative. Twenty-five or 30 years ago, I was trying so hard to be a good dub. After the age of 16 or 17 ... nah. I had decided that the Dubs were full of it. Life was an open menu.

  i know so many people, not just witnesses that are on zoloft or similar drugs.

  i know of some that, once they left the "truth", stopped taking these meds and have not had to go back on them.

  i know of some that, if they did not have them, would not be able to properly function......what about you?

  i have been an ntl customer since 9th july 2001, when i signed up for your 3-in-one deal for cable tv, cable modem, and telephone.

  during this three-month period i have encountered inadequacy of service which i had not previously considered possible, as well as ignorance and stupidity of monolithic proportions.

  i have a mom who would rather me not go to college, keep me locked up in the house, and just serve jehovah.

  i have a weak dad, instead of her being subjected to him, he's subjected to her.

  he's on my side on most of the part but he's just weak on setting her straight.

  You need them? Or you want their support & financial assistance?
  
  It's their house & their money. And while it may not seem "fair" for them to put conditions on you to benefit from their material possessions, it's within their power to do so. Haircuts & clothes aren't worth fighting over. Your future, and the opportunities that a good education can provide, are worth pursuing with gusto ... with or without their support.
  
  Dude, there's a lot you can do on your own. And as was said by another, you'll be shocked at what you can accomplish.

  Gas price in your area?

  here in quebec, ordinary unleaded is 94.4 cents a litre.

  (that's the cheapest gas!!!).

  there are 3.78 liters per american gallon, so this would give $3.57 a us gallon..... what's the price of gas in your area?

  $2.15 here today, down from $2.38 a couple of weeks ago. It still cost me $46.25 to fill my gas tank on Friday. I suppose the good news is that's the first time I've had to fill it since March 9.

  i find the topic of the 1975 end of the world scenario facinating, especially since i never lived through it.

  do you old schoolers ever feel concerned that people will one day forget about what really went down?

  with whitewashed tripe like the 'proclaimers' book informing dubs that it was just the false expectations of over enthusiastic apostates, are you at all concerned that the legacy of bullshit that is 1975 will be a forgotten moment in history blamed on you instead where the blame really belongs?

  Explain to them that 30 years ago, those teachings were "the truth". And prior to that, different teachings were the truth ... everything from the crap about aluminum cookware & vaccinations to the misleading teachings about various dates. Show them from the Borg's own publications.
  
  I think it will be fun to see what the next batch of "truth" will be 30 years from now. Keep an eye on these sneaky bastards.

  How do you amuse yourself during the daily commute?

  i commute to and from work between 2 and 4 hours every day.

  does anyone else commute and what do you do to pass the time?

  When I had a 92 mile round trip every day, I listened to Bob & Tom in the mornings and Pat White in the afternoons. I also juggled a coffee cup, a cigarette, a cell phone, and a day planner in between shifting gears & flipping off other drivers.
  
  These days, I work from an office in what used to be my living room. I amuse myself by walking down the stairs & pouring a cup of coffee.

  i know of people that never tried to get ahead or prosper themselves because they were witnesses.

  never bought a house or a brand new car because they would rather rent and drive around in a jalopy that would break down.

  Do I KNOW any? Hell, I'm related to one. All it seems he wants to do is sit around bitching about how Dad wouldn't let him play basketball in high school 40 years ago & how he could have gotten scholarships to college if he had been allowed to play on the team ...
  
  Give it a rest. You can't turn back the clock. What you CAN do is take control of your own future and move forward in a more productive direction. Instead, he simply wants to grumble & drown it in a 12 pack every night. It's not gettin him any closer to where he says he wants to be.
