I googled something TOTALLY unrelated to anything in the Dub world while researching a business topic. But, having grown up Dub, I made note of the address & came back a few weeks later when I had time to explore.

Questions You Could NEVER Ask Your Elders
by minimus injwd is great for giving us the opportunity to ask questions and get answers to things that you could never ask in a kingdom hall.
what are some questions that are simply taboo amongst the "friends"?

Damn. I forgot.
Saving Private Ryan. How can you watch that without having your heart ripped from your chest at the end .. the cemetary scene, when Ryan is at Arlington? When he wonders whether he has earned it all? My father and two of his brohters fought in WWII, as did my mother's brother (whose plane was shot down over Holland). Saving Private Ryan briangs it all home for me.
OK. Add The Longest Day to my list, too. -

"But Iam afraid I will cave in just like Ive done before. "
If you really believe and want to dedicate your life to the dubs, then take the dunk. If you're doing it only because your squeeze is pressuring you? Then take a pass. It's a matter of faith & belief & dedication. Either you feel it or you don't. Do NOT make your baptism about anything other than your own dedication.
Personally, I think the WTBS is full of it. And I'm glad I never took the dunk. But this isn't about me; it's about YOU. -

"My sister bit me alot when we were growing up and my kids have bit me." Oh, Lord ... my nephew sank his teeth into my shoulder about 35 years ago. Little kids are even worse than poodles. You got me on that one. And a brown recluse ... those are nasty little critters. Spiders inject these awful enzymes which begin to digest your flesh ... blecch!

Do you believe the earth is warming up in your area?
by JH inwe hear so much about global warming, that we wonder if it's a myth or real.
is it just in fractions of a degree or much more.. since posters here are from all corners of the world, i'd like to hear from you, and let us know if you see a difference in the weather patterns in your area, since the last few years.. here, i notice that more people have air conditioners in their homes than before, and most cars have them today.
does this mean that its hotter, or that the population is getting older and people are less resistant to heat?.

Hotter and dryer than normal for July here, too .. but these things run in cycles. We're not breaking any records. There are dry years, and wet ones. There are hot years, and cool ones.
Global warming, IMHO, is more about mother nature than it is about folks with aerosol cans and SUVs. How much CO2 do cows & buffalo belch out? How much sulfir dioxide is spewed from volcanoes? Stack that upu against the amount coming from factories and SUVs. We're just a small blip on the radar. -

Fav movie? Hmmmmm ...
Recent releases ... I'd say Eurotrip. Or maybe Shark Tale. Or Dude, Where's My Car?
Older flicks? Big Trouble in Little China. Apocalypse Now. The Sons of Katie Elder. The Cowboys. Goodfellas. True Grit. The Godfather. The Godfather, Part II. In Harm's Way. Escape From New York. A Boy And His Dog. The Road Warrior. It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.
How long do you want the list to be? -

I think bee stings are the easiest to deal with. My dad & I used to work about 300 beehives in Florida, from Orlando up to Palatka. There's no way to harvest honey from those hives without getting stung. Some days you might get 10 or 20 stings. The only time it really hurt was when you were stung in that soft skin under the eyes or around the mouth. You'd wind up looking like you had been in a bar fight, with a fat lip or with an eye swollen shut.

Bees & wasps, sure. And a couple of scorpions. And a few dog bites, too. The little ones always seemed to be the worst (poodles, chihuahuas, etc.). And cats. My daughter has a cat with a shitty attitude. That hairball has bit into me a couple of times & drawn blood. My cat hasn't bitten me, but he did get scared out of his wits a couple of years ago by my sister in law's dog & he climbed up my head trying to get away ... clawed me open in front of my left ear on his way up, leaving about a three inch long gash in my face.
