leaving
by Lo-ru-hamah into those of you that have been jw's for many years... i would like to know how it is that you have transferred to your new life.
my family and i are in the process, actually, we have left because of many of the issues brought up on this forum.
this, being jw's, is all that we have ever known.

Tequila helps the process of leaving. So does fornication.
Well, it worked for me, 20+ years ago. -

FROGLEG...Tell us a bit about yourself!! please?
by Sparkplug inok, so i finally got my server to connect and i really am hoping i get to get back on and see what you have to say...(dang computer has been acting up all night, actually for nights) i am just telling you this frogleg in case i can't get back in to respond.. i have noticed that you have been posting tonight.
i am not sure if you just have a dry sense of humor or what, but i am interested in what brings you here.
what is your story?
-
Dan-O
Frogleg is kinda busy, but he wanted me to let you know that he was severed from a bullfrog (not a leopard frog, mind you) and was dipped in a beer batter before he was fried. And he said that he goes well with onion rings. And he tastes like chicken.

What do you say in field service?
by blindersoff ini learned the truth about the truth after i was df.
now, i want to get reinstated for family reasons.
i still want to walk the tightrope to the point of going in service, but cannot promote the teachings of wts as i did for 40 yrs.

I dunno, man. I don't know you from Adam. I'm sure there's more to your story than I know. But my 30-second read is that you want to have your cake and eat it, too. You want your 'family reasons' and you want to feel good about what you say to people when you ring their doorbells. I don't think you can have both once you understand 'the truth about the truth'.

William Shakespeare said it best a few hundred years ago, man: "To thine own self be true."

I don't get it. You want to go back for "family reasons" & spread their BS from door to door, even though you say you've learned 'the truth about the truth'? How can you do that?

From a true American patriot
by Simon inpeople have made claims that i am anti-american for expressing dissatisfaction about american foreign policy or dismay at the ills of american socity.. to be honest, i do not think i am anti-american.
i think i am more pro american than many of the people in the country who like to wave flags and buy t-shirts but who seem happy to turn a blind eye when things are not right and happy to see it's ideals sold to the highest bidder.
imo the true patriots are those who are willing to stand up and take the flak for saying "this isn't good enough, we demand better".

"To be honest, I do not think I am anti-American."
Maybe you are. Maybe I've just missed all the threads in which you've said good things about our contry. Perhaps it only SEEMS as though whenever you say something about the U.S. it is said in a derrogatory manner.
"Is America the best country on earth? No, I don't think so. I don't think there IS a "best country" as they are all different, each with good points and bad points."
No one here has said that the U.S. is perfect, to my knowledge. We're human, after all. And that means we still have a ways to go in making our society better, from a number of angles. On the other hand, I think we do have the best available set of opportunities and the best possible country in which to live. Lord knows we have a huge number of people wanting to cross our borders each year, whether legally or illegally.
People from many nations see the U.S. as THE place to be, and come here to seek their fortune. Perhaps it's not such a bad place, after all. -

Are you honest when you say your age?
by JH ini know people who don't say their real age, like take off 2 or 3 years.... my mom looks younger than her age, so she sometimes took off a few years.
gee, i'm just the opposite, i rather say my real age, and wait for a compliment saying "hey you look good for your age".
how about you, do you ever lie on your age?
-
Dan-O
"do you ever lie on your age?"
Why the f would I do that? -

did you escape BEFORE baptism?
by kid-A in.
i am of the "born into it but got out of it before baptism class"......listening to so many of the horror stories on this site, i often feel like we are the 'lucky ones'..... we realized at a very young age how wrong and absurd this belief system was and ran away before making the psychological investment of baptism while simultaneously avoided the disastrous consequences of getting df'd......are we the minority here???
just curious!

"Born into it from day one but never took the plunge."
Put me on that list, too. Smooching the worldly honey's was too much fun.
