I am not sure where April 23rd came from.
It was a guess, on my part. It was the only reason I could see for April 22 being your last day to post here ... that some catastrophic event would occur to prevent any further posting the following day. Seems like you should be preaching up to the end, regardless of whether people actually listen to you.
do you have any good memories of jw get-togethers?
a lot of my good memories of them have tarnished with age.
i vaguely remember them.
Some of them were fun. I recall a couple of picnics & hayrides, with some pretty good food & some softball or football games afterwards.
The most interesting get-togethers were the impromptu ones, where I'd show up with a worldly friend or two. We'd get a football game going, and before long a few other kids from high school would be cruising by & they'd join in. Seems like I remember several occasions when my worldly friends would embarrass the hell out of the friends from the hh ... usually by cussing a blue streak whenever a play was not executed correctly.
i've often wondered, what was the real pupose of the global deluge?
what did it achieve?.

I'm betting that the world will come to an end on April 23, or something like that, and therefore none of us will be posting here anymore. I crossed paths with BB the other day & he alluded to some major event on the horizon for Israel, but he was elusive about what he thought it would be.
And that's too bad, because I've always found others' theories & conjecture to be intriguing ... Bermuda Triangle, Bigfoot, the apocalypse hitting in the Middle East ... I think a lot of it is complete hogwash, but it's intriguing hogwash.
Anyway. Whatever.

I've gone into chat by myself to sing "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall". There's a nice echo in there when you have it all to yourself.
this past week i met an old friend for coffee - she's a x-jw also but still in the trap of thinking they are the "truth" - in fact, she's trying to get reinstated, but that's another topic i'll leave for another time.. as we were having coffee 2 car groups of jw's came in for their service break.
her reaction was obvious to me that she felt uncomfortable with them there.
as i was noticing her reaction i thought of the stages i have gone through since i was df'd.. at first i was embarassed and ashamed when i would run into jw's somewhere.

Gespro, I'm not ready to count myself as "priviledged" ... I'll reserve that for Bill Gates & Warren Buffett & others with a lot more commas in their net worth. On the other hand, I do count myself as a 'fortunate' person. I'm not interested in turning back the clock to live without indoor plumbing & electricity, or give up my gas-hog. Life is good.
i had to go to radio shack today to buy some wire for a project.
i was helping a friend with his electronic devices and was running late to meet him.
as i stood near the check out line, a woman softly spoke my name.
